Welcome to the Montana Congressional District Group.
You know Montana’s position on the Plan’s district leader board is 82nd out of 435 Congressional districts. There are over 500 Montanans signed up for the Plan. That is a good start. If there is one thing that Boone has said over and over is he can get us a place at the table but his voice will be drowned out by other interests on Capitol Hill if he doesn’t have a large effective army behind him.
And we can be supremely large and effective in Montana’s single Congressional district. Let me share a vision and see if you agree. I imagine Montana leading all other Congressional districts in membership and effectiveness. And I see a District team comprised of innovative engaged members supporting the plan in a spirit of democracy attracting recruits to the Plan and championing the Plan by crafting concise useful communication and circulating that communication to news outlets, community organizations, units of government at all levels and individual citizens.
Pickens Plan will be announcing the next campaign pretty soon. We will want to take our signal from them. In the meanwhile we can begin putting our own District efforts together to recruit membership and reach out to communities.
Please post any ideas for driving membership or reaching out to communities on the District page.
