UPDATE: Should this be the solar company to follow? SUNGEVITY?
http://www.sramanamitra.com/2009/02/25/from-greenpeace-to-green-pow...

***************************************************************************************
Did research on converting my home to solar, when CA had the 50% rebates. I'd have to spend $18k out of pocket, to not use PG& E electricity, which (at $60/month PG&E bill) would take me 25 years to break even. The cost of solar or wind has to come down in price - to encourage existing home-owners to convert. PG&E doesn't want that, because it takes away from their business ---> catch-22...
Right now CA rebates & tax credits are based on KW volume generated and wind can create more power for less cost (to set up) than solar, which makes wind the best category to focus on now, but I'm hoping Solar will get the real break that it deserves.
What excites you about this campaign?
Grass-roots, internet connected, effective communication & coordination will be needed. Everyone in every state, with every congress person & senator - has to have the same language, citing the simplicity of the solution, and how it needs to get done. An outline of the "plan" and steps that need to be taken, needs to be circulated, with regional committee managers setting up each project (step) & tracking & reporting back to a central point.
Progress needs to be posted on the website, so anyone can see any where, at any time the progress or need of attention.
Goals need to be defined for each community region to aim for.
What do you want to do to help?
I want to find the companies who are able to bring forth the technology to make wind & solar renewable energy affordable to the mass majority of home owner residents in the USA.
Here's the beginning:
http://www.motherearthnews.com/Energy-Matters/Solar-Concentrator-Te...
ALSO - when Pickens Plan mentions a bill by name, to look up the bill#, go to http://www.thomas.gov/ (enter the name & it will give the bill # to call senators or house of representatives.

Plus - please take the time to watch the documentary...
"Who killed the electric car?" - full version:
http://www.sidereel.com/Who_Killed_the_Electric_Car%3F/_watchlinkvi... (1.5 hours long - extremely informative...)

Please share this with as many friends & family you know to educate as many people as possible.
We need to have flex-fuel cars. If congress is to give a "bail out" to the auto industry, they should be held accountable to using the money to generate far more flex-fuel cars, at a reasonable price (mass produced).
Electric cars - recharged by solar is a logical way to go - but is cost-prohibitive unless we get the laws changed.
For further information - here is an excellent documentary on intellectual understanding of the oil solution:
Institute for the Analysis of Global Security - Anne Korin on C-Span.
There are 7 parts. Each part takes 10 minutes - so 70 in total - but you can view each as time allows.
To me the message is "flex-fuel" machines need to be brought into Law - to move all forward.
Korin delivers solid information that is not viewed via main-stream media.
Please pass this on, if you also feel this is newsworthy.

I'm asking every person I know - who knows how much I care about alternative energy & recycling, to please join the Pickens Plan before the Inauguration. We can make a difference.

A $5 solution to saving water....

I was recently at the West Coast Green Building exhibition - and saw one product available to recirculate (pump) the water for a sink or shower, until the water was hot to use. Cost about $450.

For $5 - our household uses a bucket in the shower to capture the water - until the water is hot, which is usually around 3 gallons, and then we switch the water to the shower head & proceed. The 5 gallon bucket waits patiently until the next use of the toilet, in which it is poured into the bowl to… Continue

FYI: When calling Senator's offices: NAT GAS ACT 2009 - ammendment - is Senate Bill #672

When calling for Nat Gas Act 2009 - It is the SENATE BILL # 672 - Pickens Plan is asking us to call our respective Senators for our area.
As of 4/2/09, it hasn't come to the House yet - so calling the House of Representative now, you can give your comments, but the real time to call is when Senate approves the bill and it's passed to the House of Representatives for their consideration.
Within Pickens Plan - someone needs to identify the specific bill names and keep track where they are, as to w… Continue

AB 560 needs to pass:
Assembly Bill 560 would increase the cap on "net metering," which gives solar customers credit on their electric bill for surplus power they transfer to the utility. Currently, a utility is not obligated to sign net-metering contracts once solar power equals 2.5 percent of its peak electricity demand, a level PG&E is approaching. AB 560 would quadruple that cap, to 10 percent.

Please spread the word and take action by calling your Representative - requesting the bill be passed. Thanks!

Hi Jacqueline - you are right. Clynton pointed it out to me a bit ago, when I had sent it to hundreds already! UGH.

Here is the proper address for the "Boone Cam" recap of the last 6 months journey:

Hope you can help with a few petitions, too. WE CAN DO THIS. THERE IS NO INFLUENCE WITHOUT NUMBERS!

Jacqueline: Yes, John Jackson (Newghas) has sent me a draft of a business plan that I revised and forwarded to the Foundation. The new company has been formed called Hyco Fuels (Hydrogen Company). It will be funded by the Foundation early next year.

Jacqueline: You seem to be technically inclined. However, the electric car still depends on "dirty coal" for electricity. As an ex-nuclear engineer, nuclear power is also not cost effective as well as radiation contamination, etc.
Ford, GM both need to restructure to the fuel-cell hydrogen car. My company is building 100 hydrogen stations in S. Calif. in 2009.

It's hard to discuss bail-outs with this information - and for the fact that the big "3" met with congress today. (Each flying in on their private leer jet - and when asked if they were willing to fly home on domestic airlines - the recording posted that not one of them raised their hand to volunteer - to save taxpayers money....)

in 1993 former Press Clinton gave the auto industry $1 billion to build hybrid and electric vehicels. When the oil man took ofice they crushed them to build gas guzzlers. Now every one wants hybrids and they are 10 years behind honda and toyota. They did this to themselves.$25 billion is to make hybrid and low emisions cars. After that it is unknown what if anything they will get but every one is saying it will have many srtings attached. Iour Icegroup or in my page I forget which. I posted an article electric companies are willing to help by ordering thousand of hybrids for there fleets. They espect to save thousands per car on fuel cost.
