What excites you about this campaign?
Everything, it is clean, and most of all the resources are free. Wind farms are beautiful, and solar farms are not only beautiful, they are fascinating!!! Let's put a windmill on top of every hill and mountain. They are not ugly, they do not cut off the view, you just have to look for the beauty around you and ignore the other stuff.
What do you want to do to help?
Spread the word about the Plan and try to get everyone's attention and interest. I can't believe that everyone isn't jumping up and down over this plan. It will work, and it will help us leave a safer, cleaner, and more independent future for our future generations.

My Pickens Plan

To do as many things as I can afford to do to save energy, to tell everyone I know to get on this bandwagon. And most of all just enjoy watching it all happen. Encourage all your friends who think "Someone else will do it" to get busy and do it. It doesn't take much. A light bulb here, unplug an appliance there, don't make extra trips to the store, and so on and so on.

Coops

Do you think there is any chance of setting up some Coops? Maybe 4-6 houses on one block in a cluster join forces and finances to install wind or solar panels and hook everyone up to the same source. It would be cheaper for everyone, and it seems there has to be a way for everyone in the group to be hooked into their meter so all get "credit" when the meter runs backwards. Even if it only took care of one third or one fourth of an individual's power bill that is better than nothing until technol… Continue

What's up with that?

Why is it so expensive to put in energy systems such as solar or wind? We are seniors and an investment of tens of thousands of dollars will never show payback in our lifetime. There has to be some way to help people install these things without a huge outlay in cost and that will show an immediate reduction in costs. There may be a saving in non renewable energy right away, but not in my pocket book, I will be paying as much or more for years to come with no reward for it. I don't mind helping… Continue

Well?

It looks to me that no matter how you feel or how you are registered, John McCain is NOT the right candidate. He is getting dottier each and every day. We don't need any more crazy's in there, I hate to think of Palin and a bunch of other extremists manipulating Mr. McCain like a puppet, but I truly believe that is what will happen if he is elected. He is definitely not the same man he was even 4 years ago. He may survive physically for at least one term, but his mental capabilities are fast sli… Continue

When this is over . . . .

will we have a president who will embrace change and help us rid ourselves of our dependence on foreign oil? Will we have a president who will try to pay off our debts and not be beholden to foreign countries for our credit? Will we have a president who will proactively get behind all these alternative energies and help them thrive? I am thoroughly terrified that McCain will win this election, and if he does there will probably never be another one in our lifetimes. We will all be at the mercy o… Continue

Why don't they

Why don't they adapt these newer solar panels to fit on cars, the hood, top, trunk, etc., and let them run the car? I know this isn't practical in all areas of the country, but where I live I wouldn't have to use gas more than once or twice a year unless they can make these solar thingies save up energy for a "rainy day". Maybe an auxillary motor that ran on something else like CNG? Seems to me that the entire car could be made of solar panels that would keep the thing going and going. Here wher… Continue

Hello Janice,
Glad to have you on board with Mr. Pickens! As your District 41 Leader, I'd like to invite you to join the Discussion Group in order for you to stay in touch with the exciting things developing within the Inland Empire of Southern Cal.

Green Collar Jobs, Green Tech Education, Green County San Bernardino building incentives, Energy Efficiency workshops, Geothermal energy and more CNG vehicles and school buses...very cool things to happen in the coming year.

Please join us!

P.S...please join me on my radio show this Saturday morning, tomorrow and let's talk wind turbines. Rep. Jerry Lewis says people in the High Desert don't want wind power and these voices are usually louder - We must speak up! See my page for contact and listening info...tell your friends and give us a call!

Thanks for the comment, glad to have you with US.

Hi Janice,

Try this link for the heating photos. This is not my link; it is anachronisms.

Hi Janice,

We all share the same goal; to rid ourselves of foreign oil and clean up our environment for our children and grandchildren. Wind energy is a viable alternative. Some of us have a different ideas of what we can do for immediate relief.

Check out our group "Live Carbon Free" and see how we are promoting conservation and environmental stewardship as the bridge to future energy developments. Regardless of what we do, it will take some time to implement on a significant scale. For immediate results we can make a huge difference by conserving what we have.

We would like for you to join our group and value your input. Feel free to add me as a friend.

Too bad about your Volvo. You could donate it to our horse rescue. www.horsesavers.us All the devices that you mention will likely last as long as they are electric powered. However as oil becomes more expensive only government will have control over it. I don't think people will afford personal transportation and as a person who raced 6000 HP cars on alternate energy as early as the 70's I can understand the reasons nothing will ever replase oil. If there is a way to use wind to provide electrisity it will help with electric transportastion, heating and cooling our homes, computers but I don't think air travel or autos have a long future.

Hi, thanks for being a member of "Life Without Oil." I believe the age of personal transportation and air travel is ending. Basically we will use electric trains for long distance trips and trollies or some other electric powerd vehicles locally. People lived 100 years ago without oil. We need to look back.
