In addition to riding your bike, there are a ton of things that you can do.
You dont have to put up wind farms, solar panels, or install a tankless water heater to make a dent... (although all of those things are fantastic if you have the means)
I have a few ideas... every day we are faced with dozens if not hundreds of small opportunities to use a little less energy (and therefore consume less oil)... sure, we need all of the big actions, but we can do things on an individual level that will help wean us off of foreign oil, slow global warming, and have great side benefits of saving money (lower energy bills, higher gas mileage) and living a little healthier.
When you have a minute, check out some of my ideas here... http://push.pickensplan.com/forum/topic/show?id=2187034%3ATopic%3A193424 drop me a line and let me know what you think.
There is alot in there about helping your gas mileage, (which dosent affect you on your bike, obviously) but there are other things you can do in your house, and with your eating habits and general lifestyle.
Jason, The GM plant you asked about is in Onasawa(sp?) I think. I'll look it up later and get back to you. My email is mckissick@gmail.com. Gotta run right now!
