No
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I just slow down to save gas. Many local drivers keep speeding to red lights and then brake hard. If they knew that slowing down a bit could save gas, brakes, accidents and help the economy of this Nation, they might change their driving habits a bit. Trouble is many people think if you're driving slow, you must be drunk. Then some call the police. That also wastes more fuel as the police whiz out to catch the "bad guy" . In my case there were 2 officers. I explained that it is patriotism and not alcoholism :-). One officer understood and agreed but the younger one kept pushing the "drive like everyone else" ( if we all speed, we'll all be in sync and be safe) line. Hopefully, as more people become aware of this issue, police departments can become educated to stop the speeders and let the caring concerned citizens drive safely in peace.
What excites you about this campaign?
This campaign provides hope that sanity can revisit the roadways of the nation and that law enforcement , through education, will become cooperative with, and not impede the efforts of, some of us to save gas by driving slower ( especially when the light is red in front of us and there are 10 cars stacked up behind it).
What do you want to do to help?
I'll help by continuing to drive slower than the speed limit; maybe more later. If you provide literature for police or village administrators, I'll bring the literature to city hall and give it to those in authority. I will certainly tell everyone I know about your campaign!

Hi Jeff,

I got your name from the "slow down to save gas and money" group. (a group I joined recently)

I've been doing a bunch of reading online, and have found out that there are a bunch of ways we can all reduce our energy use (and therefore oil consumption) on an individual level. Smarter (and slower) use of your car is only the start.

I wrote a little blog entry on the subject... If you have the time, check it out... http://push.pickensplan.com/forum/topic/show?id=2187034%3ATopic%3A193424 Drop me a line and let me know what you think.

I'm trying to talk to as many people as I can in order to continue to add to my list of ideas as far as how to conserve more in my daily life (and also share what I've learned)... I believe that while we build and invest in large-scale solutions, we can also do a bunch of little things in the process.

Thanks for listening.

Hi Jeff. I have been driving well under the posted speed limit for several years and have realized a signficant increase in mileage. I plan to continue to drive slower than the posted speed limit and I applaud your initiative in this area.
