We are from North Carolina and or live in North Carolina and want alternative forms of energy to be utilized more in the future.
Texas Tech Grads
Learn and share what SEE housing is all about, and how it goes far beyond most “energy efficient housing” being built in the U.S. today. Importantly, the concepts behind SEE housing can be easily applied to existing/older as well as new homes.
This will be a group for Metro Atlantans to get involved with the Pickens Plan and to get information on how to organize and execute the plan. Started 7-8-08

Discussions pertaining to all aspects of sustainable practices. Topics include but not limited to green buildings ,LEED & other green building certifications, recycling principles, sustainable communities, local cultural & environment protection.
The convertion of suburban homes (suburban basements,more specifically) into earth sheltered green houses for food production
Garages,then,become houseing with "left overs" from the green house conversion.
Group of people who are willing to bike (as in bicycle) twice a year (less than 100 miles) to bring PR attention to The Picken's Plan. Second week in October and Second Week in April. We will bike to our state capitals - ALL 50!

- I am an adult student who has gone back to school full time. I am working towards a degree in Historic Preservation and a certificate in Sustainable Design. Preservation, Sustainability and urban / regional planning have always been an interest of mine.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- A campaign needs a visible leader with the money to get attention. Kind of like Lance Armstrong and his cancer campaign. I believe T. Boone gives this campaign the visibility and media attention it needs.
- What do you want to do to help?
- I am open to all ideas and requests.

"Welcome!" on behalf of the Pickens Community Welcome Wagon. Thank you for taking the time to join. In the past months the Community has made a great deal of progress and the U.S. Congress knows the Pickens Army is on the march.
Click and Instantly Inform Your Lawmakers!! Now that the Stimulus Bill has passed, more emphasis will be placed on the House and Senate legislative committees. Information regarding how to communicate with the Legislative Committees will be posted on this website.
We now have a Take Action link on the top of your screen under the PPlan Box at the top left side. Click and you will see a list of options that will automatically link you to your federal and state representatives and the Governor of your state.
The Pledge-Fax Your Statement!!
Please read and sign and fax to the number listed at the bottom of the Pledge page. If you could download the pledge and distribute and persuade others to sign, that would be a great help. The Community feels this is the best way to get the attention of state and federal lawmakers. Kim Anderson has other types of sign-up sheets. This is a great way to let lawmakers know of your interest in the reduction of foreign oil.

The Videos link at the top of your Profile Page has videos that are a good source of information from people who are in the field working with alternative energy.
