Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I have no direct experience with Alt Energy, especially the engineering side of things as it pertains to transportation. I firmly support the utilization of solar/wind/hydro energy to free natural gas for transportation use. We definately need to reduce our dependance on foreign oil. I am interested in exploring the possibility of a local market for affordable green home renovations making it easier for families to green their homes and make them less reliable on electricity, gas, and oil.
What excites you about this campaign?
This year is the first time in my life that the presedential election seems most important for my future. We have come to a point where we, as a human race, must put clean energy and the well being of our planet first. And we as American's must stop relying on foreign oil and dumping money into a black hole.
What do you want to do to help?
Intersted in organizing community groups that promote cycling and walking, where possible to cut down on gasoline use. If the midwest is to be used as a location for wind installations over the next 10 years, we should come together as a community and try to grow our own fresh organic produce, using Ag Extension assistance, Master Gardener chapters, and group as well as individual gardens. This would cut down on fuel used to transport produce across the United States and allow more room for windmills in the midwest.

Weez,
Our recent study has shown that people are more likely to be active in this community if they are welcomed to the plan by a real person and given some things to click on, especially if they are greeted by someone local. this is the message I've been sending to everyone in TN.
Welcome to Pickens Plan and thanks for joining.
I live in Knoxville, and when I signed up to PickensPlan, I looked for groups in Tennessee. There were groups centered in Nashville and Memphis, but not Knoxville, and the activity and leadership in our state in general was not quite up to speed at the time. I began the group East Tennessee for Sustainable Infrastructure and I would appreciate any input. You can find it here
I can also answer any questions about the plan or navigation of the website.
Please invite friends to the plan, as we need all the help we can get for Congress to take us seriously. We wish to be millions strong by January. There is a now a red button to contact congress and a pledge on this page or at the Action Center
Thank you very much,
Eric Lykins, Pickens Plan Campaign Ambassador
