Thanks for the great message Surferpags!

I was born in 1962, so I remember the Amazin' Mets, Joe Namath, and Wilt vs Willis Reed. I was a young sports fan as you can tell, reading the baseball scores at 4years old, but really remembering the '69 sports events, not the riots and political chaos. I became more aware of Vietnam, civil rights, and Dr.King, later in my teen years. My father-in-law served in Vietnam, and received a medal for helpi… Continue

The Senate

Dear Mr. Paganini:

Thank you for writing to express your concern about amendments offered to the fiscal year 2010 "Department of the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act" (H.R. 2996) that would have limited the United States' ability to regulate greenhouse gas emissions and address climate change. I appreciate hearing from you and welcome the opportunity to respond.

As you know, Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) offered an amendment to H.R. 2996 that would have prohib… Continue

Harvest Time

Every seed takes time to germinate.
So too in the fields of the soul.
We must never give up and sow
because the results do not
immediate to our eyes.
Let us wait with patience.
In the right moment, the seeds
have driven in the soil of hearts,
there will produce mature fruit.
Understanding and sow Joy, Peace and
Courage, Forgiveness and Love.
Jesus bless you have a good night.

There is truth in what you say.

We are probably better off if the government moves slow and takes the time to listen
to the people it represents.

I don't see any help from the D.C. executive branch . More unkept promises.

Something is odd in Sweden. How can anyone who plans to escalate a war
get a peace prize ?

It's frustrating to know that the campaign talk was nothing more than ' wind ' .

Haven't been able to get a response from the pickens team on an idea. Maybe you have some pull some where. Assuming the new wind farm is on hold, why not setup a fund to add a windmill to an existing wind farm ? I would contribute to it. My original reason for joining was to increase the use of wind energy.

Columbia Encyclopedia entry: Sierra Club
Sierra Club, national organization in the United States dedicated to the preservation and expansion of the world's parks, wildlife, and wilderness areas. Founded (1892) in California by a group led by the Scottish-American conservationist John Muir, the Sierra Club is made up of more than 630,000 people devoted to the exploration, enjoyment, and protection of the natural environment. The club was instrumental in helping to create the National Park Service and the National Forest Service, as well as in the formation of individual recreation areas, such as Olympic and Redwood national parks. The group has also led efforts to obtain new parklands in Alaska. Through a program of court litigation and congressional action, the Sierra Club has opposed strip mining, the use of DDT, offshore oil drilling, hazardous wastes, and most other forms of chemical or aesthetic pollution. The Sierra Club has also broadened its program to include activities dealing with the urban environment, protection of tropical forests, and overpopulation. Through its almost 300 local groups, the Sierra Club sponsors a series of nature outings, and its national office, located in San Francisco, publishes a monthly bulletin as well as numerous books about ecology and the environment.
See Sierra Club, Guide (1989).
