I put that pic of him up because I didn't have a good pic of myself to post!! His name is Elliott, and he too, was a rescue dog. We don't know too much about him. When we got him, he had just been dropped off a couple of days before. The vet says she thinks he's lab, shepherd and chow. The chow because of the black spots on his tongue and his curled up tail. He's a sweet dog, he's 2 now. Thanks for asking!

I have to say I changed an SUV for a small car. I am 6 ft and 220 lb so, is a little uncomfortable to get in and out from the car but it is a most. Most people will like to keep living the life that they have keep on driving those SUV and not to be concern about energy and use the a/c in their homes even if it is needed or not. I have a house that was built on 1920 and I have to adjust to the house is 990 square feet, small closet, small bathroom. Therefore, I do not have too many clothes, not that much furniture and so on. Now, that we are going through this energy crisis is good that the house is not 4,000 square feet because the power to provide a/c and light for all that area could get very expensive. About the Amish, I have study a lot about them and what impressed me the most is that they are dedicated to each other and that they are great constructors. If someone in their community looses a house or a barn, they all get together and in a day, the building will be rebuilt.

About the American thing, I do not know what your angle on this subject is but, I am made in America and I will like to buy more made in America. When I was in college in our class of statics, we were talking about airplane design and our teacher told us “Unfortunately in the US we do not have that much airplanes factories”. Then he mentions, “If you look at the yellow pages as the section of lawyers got thicker the factory section got thinner”.

THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
…to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost. How frightening to think that we could be looking back and apologizing to our children that we chose not to get this done when we had the chance.

PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS
We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Write to your Congressman/woman. We now have the red button on the home page, press it and make your voice heard. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan. Print downloadable flyers and put them in your car and/or business window.

YOU MAY FEEL INSIGNIFICANT
Individually, we each feel the same way, but together we will lay the foundation for a stronger, more prosperous and more secure America. Thanks again for joining us in this historical effort!
