Growing up in Omaha my bother's friend was the son of an executive at Northern Natural Gas before it was bought by Enron years ago. Anyway the friend drove a red Ford pick-up that had been converted to run exclusively on natural gas. I remember when he changed the oil what came out looked like new oil - clear amber color, not even brown. Even though I was young at the time I still remember that. If the oil is that clean I know the exhaust is that clean. Today the greenest car in America is not a Prius, but a Honda Civic GX that runs exclusively on CNG and can be filled up at home. I wish America had more than one choice for a production CNG car, even now I believe the GX is only available in California and New York state. If GM had wanted to save the Hummer one alternative may have been to convert it to bi-fuel CNG in my opinion.

What excites you about this campaign?

Buying natural gas at a $1 - $1.10 per gallon equivalency here in Washington state versus $3.80 - $4.00 per gasoline is a no brainer. Also having the option to fill-up at home overnight using a CNG compressor like Phill beats having to stop at the gas station.

What do you want to do to help?

Buy a car that runs off natural gas after the PickenPlan lobby talks some sense into the auto manufacturers, and legislators in Washington DC to produce cars and give/or increase tax breaks for doing so. I believe there are already tax breaks for buying the Honda GX and CNG compressor called Phill.

There is a perfect storm of events happening right now that create the possibility of a paradigm shift that is urgently needed. We have an angry citizenry due to pain at the pump, a presidential election on the horizon, and a man with a plan to dramatically and imminently reduce our dependance on foreign oil, and provide a bridge to future solutions, who has the resources, contacts, knowledge, wealth and "will" to get it done.

Please share this plan with your circle of friends, family and associates. Urge them to JOIN. As you know, it is simply like signing a petition. With large numbers of supporters, we can put pressure to bear on Congress to incentivize alternative and renewable energies, and insure that our future president will be a leader that will push for domestic energy solutions. JFK once said. "in the next 10 years we will put a man on the moon". He got it done. We need that kind of leadership on energy.

Time is of the essence. If gas prices retreat the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost. How frightening to be looking back and apologizing to our children that we could not get this done when we had the chance.
