Happy New Year Joan,
Last year I helped so many members of Pickens Plan learn about personal home energy plans. It's all about conservation of power, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my electricity costs. Send me a friend request a to add me Joan, I'd be honored to have you as a friend here.
BTW, Texas: I just posted an article link on my pickens page about Home Wind Systems in Texas. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "weak policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. Texas has created multiple sets of rules for loopholes and you have less rights than people in other states. You should read that article, important.
We are a voluntary community of individuals who are placing our combined support behind T. Boone Pickens and his efforts to send our government a clear (heard) message that we must reduce our nation’s dependence on foreign oil through the use of all domestic energy alternatives. This site is a place to interact with fellow Pickens Plan supporters, keep up with events and opportunities to help get more involvement. .

I am proud to put my efforts towards this cause.
The intent of this site was to stay out of the political side game.
We have heard both hopefuls touch on the energy issue but neither has really committed 100%.
I hate to say this but you will find as you scan through the gazillion discussions the political quagmire has filtered in.
One can understand how our gov got so out of control.
Just keep in mind As Sara Lee tells us (you cannot please all the people all the time).
I am a volunteer greeter and I am a just one of dozens of people that do this, because we care. If you want, here is how you can help;

THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
...to wait and see...or to see if someone else will step up to the plate... It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.
Please do not let that fool you! The thing is, the prices may go down, but THE DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL IS STILL THERE!
