I've been involved with Power Transmission and Generation through my job. I've been with a large Tel-co (CLEC) for over 30 year's.. I deal with High Voltage Protection, Noise Mitigation, Grounding and Bonding, and much more. My experience with Wind Farms has been limited to the site layouts for the sub stations and the protection and installation of communication equipment along with the installation of a High Voltage Interface and the design for the Grounding and Bonding of the Tel-co network. I work with the Wind Farms site Engineers and Contractors to establish a safety Zone around the Sub Stations, Generators. There's much more to share with you, but I feel I've already been a little long winded.

What excites you about this campaign?

Everything excites me. Wind Power, Solar Power, the future pace of Construction, the brain power and participation being used to bring down the cost, and the Power Companies support interfacing Wind and Solar Power into the existing Power Grid to reduce our use of fossil fuels..
Solar Power, and Wind Power are not exactly 'New", but how they are used, and are being deployed is New and Improving every day as we step along the way to a cleaner future. I feel being involved with the PickensPlan is the right thing to do. The politicians seem to have drawn a line in the sand so it's up to individuals, like you to Kick em over the line or knock some sense into their partisan heads. You will succeed Mr Pickens. God willing!

What do you want to do to help?

A strong background in Power and Grounding along with High Speed Transmission circuits used to monitor Sub Station Transmission and Distribution lines and Voice/Data circuits.
I'm not sure how you are structured internally. So how I will fit in is all up to your needs. I've spent 30 years with a great company that's trained me well. I hope to be useful to you in some form or fashion. I'm open for suggestions my friends.

(2) In addition to political support and action, I encourage you to consider a Personal Energy Plan in which you take control of your electricity by using home energy systems. PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS
We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.

A GROUP FOR EVERYONE Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your area, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.

TRANSPORTATION is the master key to basic survival, and the cornerstone of the economy. We all know that transportation presently depends on oil production, and oil production is peaking. We must focus first on transportation – it is the highest priority. The PickensPlan to transition vehicles to natural gas is a great start toward 100% energy independence, but is a stop-gap measure till we can transition to all electric transportation. Electric energy is strained without adding transportation demands; so we must implement drastic efficiency improvement.
