Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
Practicing managment consultant: Strategy-Process-Turnaround; energy process improvement / BPR; Adjunct Consultant, Standard & Poor’s – Society of Industry Leaders/Vista Research (energy & biofuels)
BSIE - Operations Research plus MBA - Strategy & Business Policy
What excites you about this campaign?
If only about 5% of the capital invested in petroleum production during the last seventy-five years had been spent on biofuels, we might have $1.00 motor fuel right now. It would all be carbon-neutral or carbon-favorable, and there would still be enough food to go around; all because of a dramatic impact of technology transfers into the mainstream production paradigm.
What do you want to do to help?
Anything which may suit my qualifications, as listed above.

Like I say, the "technician" training might be able to subsidize the more esoteric stuff, and all be in the same universe of next generation alternative technologies; just expand the base to include associates programs, where the bigger volume and a tuition cash cow may be grazing.
By the way...my expertie is pretty broad as I have worked in a variety of capacities. I started out in theoretical physics and found my way into aerospace engineering for Lockheed and NASA. I have done private consulting on aerospace and aviation engineering for a variety of entities including NASA, the FAA, the X Prize and several private companies. My alternative energy and power experiences actually started with some aerospace consulting efforts.
Currently, I have returned to a first love: education. I am teaching and designing new learning systems and methodologies. Paradigm Shift came directly out of my consulting experience and my current teaching efforts.
It is funny that you should bring up the training of technicians. One of the concerns expressed by some of the teachers at the high school we will be partnered wih was that the program be open to kids who are not college bound, kids who may want to pursue vocations instead. These kids will work at the institute learning CAD, programming, and machining. But it is interesting to note that your idea goes beyond that to include other kinds of technicians. If we can become operational, the idea of providing training in these areas is a very good one.
Please take a look at the executive summary on my page. We are in the process of establishing a nonprofit innovation laboratory in Houston Texas dedicated to inspiring young people to pursue technology careers and to the development of the next-generation of strategic technologies to meet our current global challenges. Alternative energy is a major focus of our program.
Right now, we are in need of people willing to sponsor our efforts or to finding sponsorship for us.
We believe this can be the beginning of an effort that can spread to other areas of the country and create a critical mass of new technology ideas and innovative technologists to meet the challenges.
Any assistance you could provide would be appreciated.
OH!
That put a big grin on my face friend!
HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!
There are a lot of songs about old harlan county aren't there.
God bless all those people. You are so right about the Different fuels that could be grown here in Kentucky, We gotta have that political capital to get those things done don't we. There are a lot of farmers here getting subsidized to grow switch grass, I heard it for ethanol maybe, I looked into it and The sites I saw were for the C.R.E.P. program, Are you familiar with it at all? I wonder if it's being grown for ethanol.
There are many roads in Harlan where Angels fear to tread.
That brightened my day up a little.
Thank you much and I wish you much success in whatever you do.

John,
THank you for the add and the kind words sir.
I am originally from harlan county Kentucky so I know what you mean by the straight up and straight down! HA!
I am working towards getting some of those very locations geared up for wind.
The only part of the state that it would work in.
It's gonna be a long tough slog, but it needs to happen.
Also working towards developing a "distributed Power" operation I hope to be unvailing soon.
Keep in touch, and thank you again.

John,
Thanks for accepting my invite. Do you have a website I can look at? Your business experience sounds very interesting, and I wanted to learn more about what you do...
Best,
Victor
Its great to see such a diverse group of people involved in the pickens plan. I've been doing a bunch of research, and have found out that there are a bunch of ways we can all reduce our energy use (and therefore oil consumption) on an individual level.
I wrote a little blog entry on the subject... If you have the time, check it out... http://push.pickensplan.com/forum/topic/show?id=2187034%3ATopic%3A193424 Drop me a line and let me know what you think.
I'm trying to talk to as many people as I can in order to continue to add to my list of ideas as far as how to conserve more in my daily life (and also share what I've learned)... I believe that while we build and invest in large-scale solutions, we can also do a bunch of little things in the process.
Thank you, sir. As we in the Navy would say, good to be aboard. Yet, I am not sure what you mean by, "Great comments and responses, above." Please explain.
