Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:

I haven't a story to tell. I am a truck driver and am always looking for something to help my emmissions and mileage. I have foun Fuel Freedom International and am using a product calles Mega Crumbs. It has increased my mileage 1 mile to the gallon which is a significant savings. They claim this product will decrease emissions up to 75%. This is the reason I thought I would mention it here. Yes, the trips to Europe and seeing what they are doing in Germany (especially) has been a wake up call to me. The Solar Village of Freiburg is particularly impressive. Check out that area on the Internet.......their is also a video produced about this area that is on DVD.

I have just returned from a 3 week trip to Denmark and Germany and continue to be amazed by the efforts of these countries with the addition of Spain to initiate huge programs in alternative energy solutions for their countries. Germany and Denmark are at the 20+ % of electricity being generated by wind. Spain is above 40% of its electricity being produced by wind. There is much written on the Internet about these efforts and incentives to homeowners, farmers and business people as well. We have been kept in the dark for so long about what others are doing to solve their energy needs, cut their carbon footprint and reduce global warming. America is only 5% of the world’s population but we use 25% of the world’s oil. There is something fundamentally wrong with that equation! We need to change our mindset and the mindset of our legislators to choose the right path for the future of America and our dependency on foreign oil. With little effort, we have the ability here for you to send a letter to our Representatives in Washington and Governor, too. Go to THE PLEDGE (at the very top of this page on the blue header) On the top of the pledge page there are three rectangular buttons- two blue ones and ONE RED BUTTON, that reads "CONTACT CONGRESS" . Fill in the short, standard form. Done!

YOU CAN ALSO HELP BY BRINGING 5 FOLKS TO JOIN the site today, so that we can build a voice big enough that Congress will finally have to listen to us, instead of the lobbyists and special interests, who are trying to derail this historic effort.

PICKENS U has been formed for college and university students to get involved. If you know of a student who would like to become an ambassador to helped coordinate the pledge drive please submit names to Pickens U site. This would be good for job resume.

THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
…to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.

PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONSWe need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.

A GROUP FOR EVERYONE. Join the Guides and Materials for New Members Group. Lot's of good information there.
Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your area, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.
