- I sold the mayor of Boise a plan for free parking for electric cars to help promote the switchover. I make my own Biodiesel for my oil burning furnace. ( I run a rooming house) I am building and installing thermal solar panels to reduce hot water costs. I co-own a car ( If I need one I got one) but I walk or ride a bike for most stuff. I am working on an electric bicycle. I have reduced my personal oil usage by more than 50% over the last three years (800 gal/yr less ). I barely noticed the recent gas price boost but will feel it this winter as I will be running B-80 fuel (20% diesel oil) for heat. I guess you could say I am a true believer.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- We are NOT talking pie in the sky ..someday we'll all be eating that rainbow stew..... All this technology is available NOW... pie later!! We do not have to end up a wholly owned subsidiary of foriegn oil.
- What do you want to do to help?
- What ever you need that I can do. What do you need in Idaho? I am already talking up your website at every opportunity.

John, I saw you comment to Lexi about the site not opening right. I have been having that problem also. I was afraid I had gotten the computer virus that have been going around.Linda
I would suggest you start trying to hook up with the local federal reps and senators and start with a grass roots lobby effort.

So I got the communication people to list all the current Idaho groups on the list "find a group by state" that comes up on the main PickensPlan site. Before there were none, now there are six. We all should be getting better response now.
This letter is going out to all members of all the Idaho groups.
I am John Leigh, from Boise. Is anyone in Idaho doing anything to raise awareness of the plan? I have joined all the Idaho groups to try to be advised. Do we get together for talk sessions or to organize for a town hall visit by T. Boone? Do the Idaho groups communicate with each other?
I guess I'm asking Do we DO something or just sit and watch?
I have set up an email address that I hope becomes the Pickens Plan Idaho newsletter. All Groups and everybody interested can subscribe. I an based in Boise so that is my focus but we all should be aware of anything happening in Idaho (So we could discuss what to do about things like our Idaho groups NOT being on the list under Idaho.....took me 4ever to figure out who to talk to)
So if you want to be on the list just email PickensPlanBoise@cableone.net and you will recieve updates as I get info from around Idaho, and maybe we will have coffee someday and plan how to put Idaho on the world map.

Inside PP is a great way for the active members. Unfortunately you won't find Idaho groups under the alphabetical listing..so go to the groups home page, type Idaho in the search box and from there you'll find our groups and give them your info...also check my friends page on my profile and you'll find members from S. Idaho, some may be interested in forming a S. Idaho Chapter, search PP for the chapter model they posted for us to adapt in forming a local PP chapter in our areas. Go for it in S. Idaho!

Here's how you can help.
PLEASE email the Pickens Plan video to everyone you know. www.pickensplan.com. Ask them to JOIN. Ask them to pass it along. Time is of the essence. If every member had 10 friends join today, we could put the number of members over 1 million very quickly!
If we can not get critical numbers how can we take advantage of this golden opportunity? High gas prices have "woken up" America to our plight and a paradigm shift like not other is in the wind. We need to do this now.
So many new members write "I want to help, what can I do?" This is a start. We may not get to the next step if we can not get this one done. Our leaders can not ignore millions of members of the Pickens Plan. We are not there yet. .
If you have a connection to the press- get them to cover this.
If you know someone who blogs- get them to cover this.
If you can write a letter to your Representative or Senator- get them to see this.
We added close to 3,000 members yesterday.... it should be 10 times that!
