Hi Derek,

Thank you for becoming my friend. I beleive Mr. Pickens has a concrete plan to get us off of foreign oil, and we have to do this with the utmost expediency. I agree with our available resources and technology we could go beyond the 20% easily. We have to treat this like a war, a must win situation for the welfare of our country. We live in Randolph County here in Indiana and there is a wind farm in this County being started Here is the link with the info on the details http://www.windaction.org/news/14431

Hey John,
Thanks for befriending me and making the connection. What are your thoughts on the pickens plan? I find it to be a step in the right direction, but honestly I know we could with the avaible resources and technology, go even further and have a nation Off-The-Grid. This plan is only talking 20% I believe.

Hi Marty,

I have looked at your blog entry in the Pickens Plan forum, you have some very good ideas in your blog about energy conservation and things that we all can do to help cut our energy usage. I will share your post in that blog entry with my wife. Well done Marty,

Thanks,

John Phistner

Hi John,

The issue of energy independance is huge... but we can all do something today to make a dent.

I live in an apartment (so solar panels and a tankless water heater are out of the question) and I play drums for a living (so public transportation is difficult... try loading a drumset onto a bus or train, especially after a late-night gig) and I dont at the moment have the money for a new more efficient car.

HOWEVER, I've been doing a bunch of research on how to help. I believe that we are all faced with hundreds of little decisions every day... making easy choices can reduce our energy use, (and therefore our oil consumption)... and side benefits include lower energy bills, higher gas mileage in any car, and a healthier lifestyle.
I wrote a blog entry about it here http://push.pickensplan.com/forum/topic/show?id=2187034%3ATopic%3A193424

If you have a moment, check it out, drop me a line, let me know what you think. I appreciate any advice, input, and ideas.
