Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I've seen presentations in person and also on television which included the production of biofuel, wind and solar energy. It's also imperative that we make changes personally and, as a country, into using these energy sources to rid us of our dependence on foreign energy, promote a cleaner environment and strengthen our leadership in the world.
What excites you about this campaign?
The possibility that we could see an energy independent future sooner than expected.
What do you want to do to help?
I'll spread the word to my friends and family about this website.

Algae Biofuel

What can replace fossil fuels in our motors? Algae Biofuel. I'm going to explain how this proven and renewable energy source, which we can grow in our own country, can solve some of the problems we face with energy, pollution, environment, health and economy. What's keeping us from growing our own fuels? Currently, we don't have the farms constructed to grow the algae and, fossil fuels have been cheap enough to keep us from converting. Now that petroleum fuel has lost some of its affordability,… Continue

Realistic Energy Goals

T. Boone Pickens understands some of the struggles we're facing as a nation and he's addressing them with his plan. Recently, another big figure in the campaign for energy independence, Al Gore, proposed a plan that the U.S. produce 100% of it's energy within 10 years by utilizing solar, wind and other environmentally friendly sources of energy. The only major difference between the plans is that Al Gore's takes a strong stance against the further development of carbon-based fuels. With Al Gore… Continue

hey jose, thanks for the comment. no, just because i, personnally don't think very highly of al gore will not change my mind on what mr. pickens and we, as a whole are trying to do. i still firmly believe that we really need to find alternative energy sources. i haven't really did alot of research on carbon off-sets, but my take on it, is that people and companies buy these from other people and companies that are doing alot more to reduce their carbon footprint so it makes them look like they are doing something. and al gore is a founder and on the board of directors of one of the companies that buys and sells them. buy, like i said, i haven't done alot of research on this. by the way, north dakota has a manufacturing company that makes the towers for wind turbines and another company that maufactures the blades for the. we also have a hydro-electric dam on the missouri river. on the down side, we have a coal-fired generator plant with enough coal to last well into the next century. i guess to be fair to them, they are doing everything they can to cut down on emissions. i just beleive that it will be impossible to remove them all
i have been to washington state too, it is a beautiful place

Hey Jose, I just learned of Pickens Plan on the rdio yesterday, and I agree with it whole-heartedly. I read your comments and agree with you as well. I guess my only question is, are you aware that Al Gore uses more energy generated from fossil-fuels in one month then you do in an entire year? I agree with the idea, but I think we could find someone not so hipocritical to put this to the general public. By the way, I lived within 50 miles of mount rushmore for 15 years before moving back to my home-town. Have seen both mount rushmore and crazy horse mountain many times, they are cool. Take Care.
