You are very wrong about people with money not being interested in green. GE and Gore are two that expect to make obscene amounts of money pretending to be doing something. The only green they want to increase is the green in their pockets, but they…
The duceman is very eloquent and right on target. I have such an interest and have checked out the Pickens site, nothing. I check out government grants daily, again nothing. There are lots of grants for CO to count lizards and such. There are lots o…
A note to Richard Barnard, new Friend at Pickens Plan
Hi, Richard,
Re Pickens Plan, I spend some time thinking about what is happening in the world, and why.
The thing that comes across to me is that much of our world, as we now have it, just kin…
This is good news - propane has long been an "alternate fuel", used by commercial and governmental fleets, industrial entities (forklifts, etc.) for some time. One advantage of propane is that it is already widely distributed as an industrial gas an…

I saw your comment about the Hydrogen powered air-car and it is a worthy concept, but why not use helium as a balast reducer, since it is very light, and is cost effective over long periods of time. Then the air car's fuel can do what it is supposed to do, propell the vehicle. Yet, how is turning done and can it be precisely steered? Could magnetic systems be also employed to accelerate the manueverability? Good luck with this idea. Remember that every idea is produced one small step at a time, Kaizan. And to be successful is only to visualize the end-product and then build it just as you conceive it. Eventually the vision will be replaced by the real thing, one step at a time. I would like to own one, so if you get it done soon, can I have a ride? Or perhaps drive it? Cool dream! Great savings on gas! And no CO2!
From just a quick read, we seem to be talking about those silly rotating things that kill birds and bats, and the larger the swept area and the more aerodynamic they are, the more efficient they are and the more birds they kill. They are also quite expensive to set up and repair, and most are owned by rich people and made by those other people in Big factories. When speed control systems fail they blow up.
What is wrong with Adam of Racine WI vertical wind turbine with extension sails to catch an increased amount of wind energy and control max speed ?
Birds could probably nest in this thing and installation, repairs and maintenance could be done easily by local labor. If one guy can build this out of his own pocket, I am really impressed. I would be pleased to send Adam $1 to build version #2 and provide the second installment of the educational show "How to build a vertical wind mill,"
Does Adam have a PayPal account ? How many voters do we need Adam ?
I may be moving my email account to my new URL I have just purchased form Global International Web Sites www.OttawaCanada.ws costs me $10 a month, Because I have not yet created a web page this site is being used to promote my down line. It is an MLM network managed by Google the virtual fortress in the virtual world of the North America Party.

I read your comment on Wanted Patents but did not understand.
You like the collective intelligence concept? You can learn more outside the group as MIT is doing research on it called " Collective Intelligence" it's on the MIT website.

Hi Joseph, Do you mean you couldn't find my presentation or after seeing it you were less than impressed. If the first, just go to my blog about getting people to work then look for the blue link with the words "Time for a Change.ppt" an click it. If you are using IE and a Microsoft operating system you will be asked whether you want to open or save it. You choose.
Robert this is an answer to the comment you left at T. BOONE ROUND-UP
Joseph and Robert
I read and reread your comments and was quite affected by your sense of disappointment and concern over the systemic issues in our educational system. As the husband of a career teacher with over 35 years in the system I'm no stranger to the issues you present with such eloquence and passion. Your dedication is as palpable as your frustration for being unable to make or see the changes you know are essential.
It is truly an issue of national concern that we have such glaring disparities in our school system from urban to suburban settings as well as what appears to be the push them through and get them out of our hair scenario's which is undeniable when confronted with college bound students who need a year or more of remedial training before they can read at required levels.
And then through all of this, many of our teachers remain in the fight and bring the best they can to the students in their charge. Some survive...some coast and some surrender. Others meet the system head on and buck if for all they're worth only to be met with the protective reflex of a retreating turtle so all the combatant is left with is the hard shell of indifference. It's easy to understand your feelings, and I want to reach out to both of you and deliver my collective gratitude for caring in the midst of apathy. It's very hard to do.
My plea to you is…don't give up the fight. Not only for justice and improvements in what we know needs to be fixed but in areas previously not even on our radar. I believe we do have opportunities now we have not had before. For 35 years I have been waiting to meet people just like you who would sign on to a movement who's imperative is to make changes inside and outside our systemic, political and cultural status quo. After the 1973 OPEC Embargo I started building energy efficient homes. No one cared, very few other builders joined me and although Carter tried, the government and regulating agencies were completely unengaged. However…the worst case scenario was that consumers made no demands otherwise...and now we are. The WE I'm speaking of resides in the elevated consciousness of the marketplace. It's as if a sleeping giant has finally stirred and is gradually awakening to a different day and wanting a different world. In my opinion it's always been the case that this collective WE has shared culpability for the lack of change in our energy policies, conservation and resulting oil wars.
There is an undeniable development in progress. Times are changing. I'm urging you to understand that if ever there was a time when your best hopes could be realized...that it lays before you now...and if you allow the past and it's disappointments to guide your future, you will forfeit the opportunity to play a part in achieving the objectives you have already fought so hard for in the past.
There is no magic wand...the struggle will continue...at my age I'm not sure I or you will be here when the turtle comes out of its shell...but at least I'm beginning to believe that it will. Now is the time to fight harder, give up the pain of the past and be a participant in the better future which is unfolding as we watch.
If there is an allegorical army...it's the one assembled around you in this space embracing the best in all of us. You can feel it. Stay in the fight!
Thanks for the compliment but I don't know the details of the chemistry for hydrolysis or other reactions involving hydrogen and oxygen. I've read some very interesting articles like the ones about the young MIT scientist that has produced amazing results imitating the ability of green leaves to perform photosynthesis. Look around, you will soon know more than I do.
So hydrogen powers the jets to keep the rotors turning and the turning rotors create the electricity. What is the electricity for? Family history - fascinating. He came out of China at an eventful time in history and I'll be he has a lot of stories to tell. I studied Chinese at Yale University over 40 years ago under some children of missionaries who had been born in China.
Hi Joseph, Here is a way to help and give tools to all of us for getting more RE projects started. I have been pushing for the sell of US Treasury "Energy Independence Savings Bonds". Savings bonds are normally purchased in $25 increments. This gives a way for just about any American to tighten their belts just a bit by skipping a meal at McDonalds or Pizza Hut and buying a RE savings bond to support a project. I need help pushing this project, I've faxed and emailed many in Congress/Senate already. My email is ke6cvh@yahoo.com. Here is a copy of a fax sent to Nancy Pelosi yesterday:
27FEB09
Honorable Speaker of the House Congresswoman Pelosi,
I am an Electronic Technician Chief in the US Navy with 27 years service stationed overseas. I’m outlying an idea to assist and work with current plans for achieving energy independence. I urge you, as speaker of the house and the driving force to form the select committee on energy independence and global warming, consider for discussion and introduction into the house US Treasury Savings Bonds for Energy Independance.
In WWII America sold war bonds supporting the war effort. When young, my mother told me her primary school raised enough money through bonds to build a tank to support troops. I am impressed with the patriotism and purpose of our greatest generation that accomplished so much.
Selling energy bonds for RE (Renewable Energy) development would lower foreign oil imports and assist with the complex problem of funding. Bonds sold as “Energy S” could support new solar trough plants, “Energy W” to support wind farms, Energy “H” to support hydroelectric plants, Energy “T” to support RE transportation such as electric bullet train routes powered by RE, Energy "C" COOPS for small communities only needing a small quantity of turbines, and Energy “I” for needed infrastructure high voltage power lines to the RE site. Bonds will have the project name and include an artist’s perspective of the project and an American flag. President Obama had great success with the internet during his campaign. In a similar manner, using the internet, energy bonds could have a website listing current projects and an “electronic checkout” could purchase a bond $25 or higher. Simpler methods of payment such as “PAYPAL” and credit cards would be available and after an electronic purchase is complete a color print out of the bond is available with a follow up of the bond in the mail. The website would limit quantity of projects for each category until funding is complete. After a project becomes funded, a new project will be available. A tab on the site will show history and status of previous projects. Purchasers may take great pride in “collecting” and displaying bonds of various RE projects and participating at different levels of financial support. Solar trough plants in the multi-hundred MW size capacity with molten salt energy storage in California, Arizona, and West Texas can provide a major portion of electric needs. North Dakota has potential to support 1/3 of our nations electric needs in it’s class 4 wind zone areas. There are plenty of suitable proposed wind turbine farms now around the nation to significantly increase our RE if funded. Mid sized hydro-electric has not been used in America to it’s full potential. Following the example of our neighbor, Canada, it would provide a significant increase in percentage of electric production. Developing all three we could provide the majority of our electric and heating needs through renewable energy in a "New New Deal" fashion allowing natural gas for transportation as T. Boone Pickens is working for. Bullet train routes have proven a viable alternative to commercial domestic air service and when powered by electricity provided by RE suppliers America would be in the forefront of world technology. Example, I heard of discussion for a commuter train from Denver to Colorado Springs. Such a route built as a renewable energy project with charter requirement legally requiring to only purchase electricity from available renewable energy sources would be a model example. There are many train routes, city bus systems, and government vehicles that can be converted to run from alternative energy sources and fuels. Jobs created would bolster the economy, lower trade deficit, and strengthen national security. I would take great pride in print outs of bonds with graphics of each project I supported and many other Americans would also. The energy bonds could have tax breaks. BLM lands may be a viable place to start for some projects.
I contacted the US treasury department and was told that the marketing department for savings bonds closed several years ago. I was told there would be problems because savings bonds are at the federal level while the projects will be at the state and local level. I disagree and believe that these can easily be figured out in the way of grants to the state and local level using money from the bonds for those specific projects. I was told to check out auctions on the www.treasurydirect.gov website and found them to not apply to citizens wanting to buy savings bonds to support a cause such as energy independance. I was told by the treasury department to look into CREB (Clean Renewable Energy Bonds). I found CREB to be large scale funding that a citizen would not be able to participate in as a US Treasury Energy Independance Bond would provide. If given the tools to participate directly, the power of the citizens of the United States to help achieve energy independance could not be denied. Americans mean well and the Energy Independance Savings bond program will give citizens the power at their level to make it happen. If marketed through a web page, commercials, and to federal employees the word would get out and participation would spread like wildfire.
Mr. Paul Gipe, a resident of Bakersfield CA, an author of several books about wind energy, and recipient of multiple awards as a pioneer in the industry since the 1970's has put a letter I wrote to Senator Dorgan on this subject as well as an older letter I wrote on wind COOP in JAN07. These websites are:
The Group was put up about three days ago now. We enjoy two administrators at this time. Monte & Claynton, both very capable men. It is my intent to obtain three more administrators for this Group. I'm looking for diversity of skills. Hopefully, this team will use each other as a sounding board.
As I have stated, I would like to see a Credit Union created. But, I don't want it to end there. I think the members should be educated on grants as well as loans and tax credits available via their respective state and local governments.
I have found that none of this quality, accurate information is easy to find.
