Hi Joseph
My name is Jim Barrus and I am from Springfield, Massachusetts.
I am starting, with help from Dennis Scott, the ENERGY PARTY for MASSACHUSETTS, as part of the Pickens Plan, a state group.
As you are a member of a district in Massachusetts I hope you will join me so we can become a combined voice for alternative fuel to Congress and Federal officials as well as to state officials
Here is a link on the web site for US Department of Energy - Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, for the ENERGY PARTY for MASSACHUSETTS and for the ENERGY PARTY
This page is for Massachusetts but all states can be checked. It is not just a list of other types of energy that can be used in Massachusetts but it discusses them and the kinds of solar collectors.
Check the sites the links go to. There is a lot of information there.

Below is Dennis Scott's statement about the ENERGY PARTY and what we plan on doing.
Jim Barrus
We started the ENERGY PARTY on the Pickens Plan page in October. Our group became the most active and fastest growing group on the PP. We grew so fast that T. Booneʼs son Mike Pickens noticed us and joined our group two weeks before Christmas. We have more than doubled in size since he joined and this brings me to what I want to talk to you about.
Our members from all over this great country wanted me to start groups for their states. I stared a discussion topic in the ENERGY PARTY group Sunday 1/04/09 asking if anyone from any state would be interested in managing a group for their state. As of today 1/08/09 we have started 10 state groups and I have 3 more to start today. We should have at least 25 started by Saturday 1/10/09 and I hope all by the end of the next week. If you have friends in other states let them know20about our movement
The ENERGY PARTY has become a magnet for like minded people that looked for that change always promised every election, but can never find after the winners have been announced. That mythical legend of change that will fall like manna from heaven only if a politician is elected and more so re-elected, and so stealthily eludes us after the election.
I believe in Booneʼs plan of energy independence and support him 110% and our group is here if and when he needs us during the first 100 days of congress. We will stand with him in his attempt to be partisan in his efforts to sway congress to the fact that our country desperately needs a funded energy program to survive in the future. We have taken it upon ourselves to plan ahead in case he fails. I shouldnʼt say he fails, I mean if congress refuses to see the need for a funded energy policy that is a cure not a band aid.
Let us wait to see what they plan and what T. Boone can accomplish in the Lions Den (Washington). I pray for Boone and our efforts to succeed and for us to get back on track with energy and the economy. This time though I am planning ahead, fool me once shame on them, fool me twice shame on me, and I am ashamed. Fool me three times, not without a fight.
Planning ahead Will not hurt us, not planning at all will. Lets watch and w ait then pounce if we see the need. A charismatic financially viable leader like Ross Perot in 1992 will emerge as we gain in numbers. 2009 is our year to grow with your help. Will it be another billionaire from Texas? I donʼt know.
Mike Pickens and I agree that this is not an attempt to find a presidential candidate at all. History shows us when a 3rd party aims for the White House they fail and we take two or three steps back and stumble to the ground becoming comical fodder for the media. This is to push the Pickens Plan and encourage people to run for congress as a 3rd party candidate in 2010
Gas and diesel will go up again because of OPEC and the fact that the 111th congress is already planning a gas tax.
Hello Joseph,
Thank you for the invitation... Warwick and Worcester - what a team. Keep me posted if you hear of any interesting availabilities in the area.
Thanks, Mary
Welcome from a neighbor to the south - in Rhode Island! HEre is a way you can help. So glad you are here.
We need your help with the Pledge Push! We can only get this plan done with HUGE numbers. Please download some pledges, get them signed and fax them back to the 888# at the bottom of the page. We eat the apple one bite at a time. Collect a few every day, and in no time you will have 100. We would be thrilled to have you in the 100CLUB. ARE YOU IN?
Please get your elected leaders to sign, as well. A two pronged offense can not fail!
Best
Kim
Also, please congratulate Karen Nardella and Craig Savage for completing the task! You should read how they did it on the 100CLUB GROUP page - http://push.pickensplan.com/group/100pledgeclub

I joined the Pickens Plan about a week ago and have spent some time today looking over the features of our website. I just wanted to introduce myself. What an exciting and worthy community to be involve with. All the best, Luis Garcia…
I would imagine your talents could be tremendously useful. How we would go about starting the following:
1. Business Tax Incentives to start the wind energy programs
2. Consumer & Business incentives to install solar panels (I live in Scottsdale, Arizona where it would be so practical to use solar if it weren't so darn expensive to install)
3. Convince our politician that we the American Public believe in this program and want it put into place.
4. If money talks, how could we supplement Boone's money with contributions for those interested. It would appear that if we set up an escrow account and every concerned citizen gave $10, we could collect a sufficent sum to kick this program off in a big way.
I'm somewhat disgusted that McCain keeps going back to the same old tired program of oil and just drilling off our shores. We need to think more out of the box and into the future. The change needs to be as dramatic as going from horses to cars. Well......now that I think about it, if we were still all riding horses, we wouldn't have this problem, eh?
I'm rambling, but you seem like the type of power player who could really take a leadership role.
I am also a bicycle rider -- have a restored 1988 Schwinn Paramount that I tricked out with all vintage Campagnolo component a couple of years ago. I try not to ride when the weather in in the 90s or when we have ozone alerts around here.
For the past five years, I was the former president of a local taxpayers association that closely monitors local government spending and state and local tax policies.
Texas is quite diverse. It gets too hot here though & I don't like the heat. I don't really know any lawyers personally. So why did you add me to your page? I mean why did you pick me to add? Do people just randomly add friends on here? I'm new to this, but I do think the Pickens Plan sounds like it can work.
