- I have very little experience at this point. However, my husband recently researched solar panels as a possible business venture as well as a power source for our own home. He found out that we are only allowed to use about 25% of our power from solar panels. We are forced to remain dependent on Dominion Virginia Power for the bulk of our power needs. We were both outraged by these findings and would like to see this law changed.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- Finding and implementing alternatives to oil.

- Not sure but I am open to suggestions.

I know that we are friends, and you get email updates from me, however, I think this is so important, I am reaching out personally.
I AM CREATING A "100 CLUB"... members that have faxed in 100 or more signed pledges. So many thousands of people signed onto this site and said they would do "anything" or "everything" to help. Here is your chance!
We have the mechanism to build our numbers, we need to use it. Pledges are a very easiest ask- Boone has done the hard work. All we need to do is hitch our wagon to his horse and plow to the finish. I have sent in 240 so far. The office has recieved thousands, we need millions.
It comes down to.... DO WE HAVE THE FORTITUDE to really go the distance on this? I sure hope so. We aren't asking folks to take up arms. But, THIS IS OUR REVOLUTION. And we have a very small window to get it done. I would like your help.

WOW, We finally have petitions! "THE PLEDGE" is on the blue header between THE PLAN and DAILY PICKENS.
THIS IS THE BEST TOOL WE COULD ASK FOR! It is so much easier to get someone to sign a petition than to go online and join the plan as a member.
I have been test driving it for a few days and got 200 signatures rather easily. Most folks had seen the ads or seen Boone on the news. Most were eager to sign it and strongly support it. A few wanted to get more info- I handed them a business card with the website. Very few said no (2 or 3).
PLEASE download a dozen PLEDGES, get them signed and fax them back ASAP (more if you are ambitous or have a large circle of influence). Please ask all your "friends" to do the same.
THIS IS HOW WE BUILD AN ARMY. If we all roll up our sleeves and do the collective work that we need to do, right now, we can give Boone the voice he needs to make sure Congress hears the American people and not the lobbyists and special interests.
Thank you for all your efforts. We have a very strong team. Can we do it or are we just full of hot wind? Many ants can take the Hill!

I also agree with the 'Picken's Plan'. However, I believe if an older car or truck is converted to natural gas, won't it clean out the carbon build up behind the rings and end up costing that consumer either a rebuilt engine or additional use of lubricating oil which will add to the pollution produced by that vehicle? Many citizens can not just go out and buy a new car or risk a 'ring job' converting a gasoline powered engine to natural gas. These questions, I feel, have to be addressed and solutions sold to the American public if we expect to have a significant number of vehicles operating on natural gas. Nobody has said anything about the federal an state taxes that are included in the price of a gallon of gasoline. Mr. Pickens stated on "Good Morning America" that he fueled his Honda in his own garage. I assume his accountants file the proper paper work to pay the "road" taxes.
I live in Atlanta, GA and I have yet to see any gas station that carries natural gas other than 29# tanks for my grill.

The larger our membership the more likely we will be successful in getting Congress to provide effective incentives for alternative and renewable energies and in insuring that our future president will treat energy independence as a matter of the greatest urgency, applying the same kind of leadership as JFK exercised when he led us with his stirring challenge to put a man on the moon in 10 years. Please take the time today to bring 5 new members to the site.
THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
…to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost. How frightening to think that we could be looking back and apologizing to our children that we chose not to get this done when we had the chance.

PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS
We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Write to your Congressman/woman. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan. Print downloadable flyers and put them in your car and/or business window.
YOU MAY FEEL INSIGNIFICANT
Individually, we each feel the same way, but together we will lay the foundation for a stronger, more prosperous and more secure America. Thanks again for joining us in this historical effort!
