Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:

I've been interested in alternative fuels since we were promised atomic cars back in the sixties. I currently heat my home with wood, while utilizing timber stand improvement techniques. Being from Kansas, originally, I have long considered the harnessing of the "southwind" and "skies that aren't cloudy all day". I am a Teddy Roosevelt conservationist, not an ecologist or radical environmental activist. I don't understand why our nation did not learn from the oil embargo of 1973. Our government is not the answer and, ,in my opinion, is a bipartisan source of the problem. The great solutions always come from great thinkers and doers in the private sector. This will be no different.

What excites you about this campaign?

Mr Pickens is willing to take some risks and kick over a few sacred cows. If he makes some more money while doing it, so be it.

What do you want to do to help?

First, I want to be better educated about the plan and the planners. Who are these folks and what are they really hoping to accomplish? If it is legit, then I hope to ignite a few prairie fires by promoting the plan and utilizing it locally.

I have begunto make calls locally and insert the dialog into conversation with friends and potential key players in our local area.

$700 BILLION PER YEAR
We are transferring $700 billion each year, 7 trillion in the next 10 years, to unstable and antagonistic regimes. Americans are angry and ready as never before, to take dramatic steps to reduce our dependence on foreign oil. A plan to replace foreign oil with American solutions has appeared on the horizon, we intend to help Pickens turn this hope into reality- energy independance for our country.

SHARE THE PLAN
with your circle of friends, family and associates. Urge them to JOIN. From your own experience you know it is very much like simply signing a petition. The larger our membership the more likely we will be successful in getting Congress to provide effective incentives for alternative and renewable energies and in insuring that our future president will treat energy independence as a matter of the greatest urgency, applying the same kind of leadership as JFK exercised when he led us with his stirring challenge to put a man on the moon in 10 years.

THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
…to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost. How frightening to think that we could be looking back and apologizing to our children that we chose not to get this done when we had the chance.

PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS
We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Write to your Congressman/woman. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan. Print downloadable flyers and put them in your car and/or business window.

YOU MAY FEEL INSIGNIFICANT
Individually, we each feel the same way, but together we will lay the foundation for a stronger, more prosperous and more secure America. Thanks again for joining us in this historical effort!

We don't need money, but Please help us recruit members to the Pickens Plan so that we can get a change in attutude by our elected officials, and get a grassroots movement to get off imported oil. Why not make them fillibuster from a treadmill generator? We might have solved the energy crisis before it began. Talk alone won't solve this problem, but innovative action will.
