Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
No
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
None. But like many people at this point in time, I'm really fed-up with Big Oil and what they are doing to our economy, as well as the economy world-wide. While I understand there are many factors involved in our economy being in the mess it's in, the oil companies and speculators are playing a large part in the big picture.
What excites you about this campaign?
I don't know much about it. Every time I see the commercial, I think, "I'm going to go check out the site." But I haven't done it yet--guess I will now!
What do you want to do to help?
I don't know what I can do to help, except gripe and whine--however--I'm willing to learn what I can do!

Thanks Kat. I will check it out. I can be an organizer however I am involved in too many other projects right now to take more of an "active" role in this one. Not that this is not important but when you run your own business and have other civic/volunteer things you give time and effort to, you have to set priorities.
Take care,
Harry

Hi Kathi, Yes the library can hold meetings in the evening. They have various rooms available for meetings. All you have to do is call or go by to schedule night and time. CNG pump stations and distribution I agree are a big problem. Maybe Pickens can answer that question. Essentially I think a plan would have to be developed for developing these facilities, including how the CNG gets distributed. Hope all is will, Take care, Chuck
Mel just doesn't get it. This goes against everything we are fighting for. Drilling is not the answer.
MARTINEZ: “GANG OF 10” PROPOSAL IS WRONG FOR U.S.
September 12, 2008 - WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Mel Martinez (R-FL) today issued the following statement regarding the pending “Gang of 10” proposal that is expected to be brought up for consideration next week during the Senate’s debate on overhauling U.S. energy policy.
Senator Martinez said:
“I am for more domestic exploration. We need to drill for oil in ANWR and the OCS. We need to start taking advantage of the vast supplies of oil shale in the West. We need to do all of these things in conjunction with conservation and developing alternative energy supplies like nuclear, clean coal, bio fuels, and renewable resources.
“The ‘Gang of 10’ as it has been presented falls far short of meeting our nation’s energy needs and instead threatens to raise the price of fuel at a time when Americans are already paying record high prices. Worse yet, the proposal blocks states like Florida from determining their own fate as exploration is concerned. Florida in particular is harmed by this proposal because it walls off production except for in the most sensitive environmental and military training areas.
“The time for patchwork solutions is past. The time for political posturing is over. The American people are overwhelmed with the prices at the pump and they demand a comprehensive solution. The best alternative on the table right now is S. 3202, the Gas Price Reduction Act. S. 3202 is a balanced approach that will help lower fuel costs in the near term and give America the energy independence it needs.”
