- I dont have any hands on experience, but I dont understand why this country hasnt become a leader in this, its free solar and wind! I've wanted a home off the grid for years and bring the subject up every chance I get, I am building a website and offering plans to build a small home wind generator www.earth4energy.com its my small way to get the word out. My state of Maine is resisting the idea, not so much the gov but the people dont want wind farms because of noise?? I dont know how much noise they make, but I am willing to listen to it myself if I was off the grid. also I dont understand why hospitals, maniciplebuildings,etc arent hooked up to alt energy to reduce cost?? I have alot to say on this subject even though I am not really educated in the subject. I am so glad you have done this!!!! I hope someday I can see a wind farm(and hear) and I'd love to meet you!

If we could take all the money we have spent to date on developing fossil fuels and had spent it on alternate fuels, the world would be quite healthy now, but it would have taken a little longer to reach the same level of development. The fossil fuels were the quick and dirty way.
Now we would like to change, but we are effectively starting with no dollars left in the bank. We need people like Mr. Pickens, who made money in the last era, to help us develop the energy sources that we should have been working on all along. It was just so easy to do nothing.
The stars have aligned to create the possibility of a paradigm shift that is and has been urgently needed. We have an angry citizenry due to pain at the pump, a presidential election on the horizon, and a man with a plan to dramatically and imminently reduce our dependance on foreign oil, and provide a bridge to future solutions, who has the resources, contacts, knowledge, wealth and "will" to get it done.
Please share this plan with your circle of friends, family and associates. Urge them to JOIN. As you know, it is simply like signing a petition. With large numbers of supporters, we can put pressure to bear on Congress to incentivize alternative and renewable energies, and insure that our future president will be a leader that will push for domestic energy solutions. JFK once said. "in the next 10 years we will put a man on the moon". He got it done. We need that kind of leadership on energy.
Time is of the essence. If gas prices retreat the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost. How frightening to be looking back and apologizing to our children that we could not get this done when we had the chance.
