- Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
- I have no formal experience with alternative energy other than a home-make solar cooker which I have had some success. I am looking into a solar heat converter for my sun porch that I use a green house in the winter. I am saving, hoping to install solar panels for my home. I practice conservation as best I can and am always looking for new ways to lesson my carbon footprint.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- Everything. Anything to lessen the impact of foriegn oil on this country and decrease energy costs, especially for the poor. I keep my house at 50 degrees because I can't afford the luxuary of anything higher. My husband just inherited land in Ohio and we hope to look into wind power.
- What do you want to do to help?
- Anything within my capabilies. I can write letters, campaign door to door, whatever I can do to promote this cause. I do my best work behind the scenes but will step to the front if need be.

YOU CAN ALSO HELP BY BRINGING 5 FOLKS TO JOIN the site today, so that we can build a voice big enough that Congress will finally have to listen to us, instead of the lobbyists and special interests, who are trying to derail this historic effort.
YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE PLEDGE on the Main page. Print out 10 or more of them, get them signed and fax them back to Boone ASAP. This is how we build our numbers fast! Be a leader, be a part of the "100 CLUB", by faxing in 100 signed pledges. Let me know when you are done and I will see that you are added to the list.

Contact and "Friend" the New Energy Army Regional Leader for your state; you can find them to the right, in the Featured Members section. Let him/her know that I sent you there and you are interested in becoming an organizer.
THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY …to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.
PICKENS U We are recruiting "Campus Coordinators" for colleges and universities to represent the Pickens Plan on campus. We are looking for someone who can create a college page on the Pickens Plan site and also on Facebook encouraging folks to sign up for the Pickens Plan.
If you are connected to a college or university in your state, can be a campus coordinator, or can help find a campus coordinator, please let me know so we can get the process rolling.
PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not
1) Increase our membership
2) Influence public policy.
3) If you know someone who is in the press, or someone who blogs, get them to cover this and ask those in the public eye to support this plan.

Leslie - Welcome Wagon Volunteer
Welcome to an exciting time at Pickens Plan! We have grown to almost 1.4 million suporters since June - just 5 months. There are now less than 70 days until Inauguration Day - we must put it into overdrive!
The Senate's "Gang of 20" and Thomas Friedman, celebrated columnist and author, have all stated that the only way to get the action we need on energy is to build this grass roots effort to un-ignorable heights. (Read at DAILY PICKENS) We need to keep our eye on that goal!
Please get 10 signed pledges faxed in today. It is easy, Boone has done the hard work already. When I brought mine to the UPS Store to fax them, the new owner and his wife signed the pledge. They were huge supporters, but had not had time to go online and just do it. There are so many folks out there like them - we just need to spread the word AND take names.
Many hands make light work. Can you help? JUST 10!
