Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?

Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize

Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:

I have no experience with alternative energy, but would love to be involved in some capacity. I live in McRae, Arkansas which is located in White County, which, I am told by locals, has the largest deposit of natural gas in the country. I don't have any idea if that is correct, but, I do know that I and my husband are sick and tired of our country's officials and businesses putting the country at large at risk of total dependency of other country's production of any natural resource. We should always be and remain consistant and true on our independence of other countries. Now, if I am not mistaken, our forefathers wanted it that way and even based our country's basic principles on that thought, hope and belief. Sorry, I am pretty long winded.

What excites you about this campaign?

This campaign excites me because it gives the average "Joe", like myself, some kind of hope that someday we as Americans can possibly be free from this strangle hold that the "Oil Companies" of the the world has on our people. Basically, "they have us by the balls." And, to be quite honest with you, it doesn't feel that great. And, another thing is that we were crazy enough to let them convince us that we had no alternative to turn to. It makes me literally sick at my stomach to know that I am putting out 1/2 of my paycheck every month just to get me and my husband back and forth to work everyday.

What do you want to do to help?

I have no idea how you would begin to use me in such a campaign as this. But, I do have a Marketing Degree and have 8+ years of experience in advertising and copy writing (radio and print ads). Surely, you could use me somehow. If not, thanks for considering me.

We are blessed that the creators of this site have given us the ability, with little effort, to send a letter to our Representatives in Washington and Governor, too.
Go to THE PLEDGE (at the very top of this page on the blue header) On the top of the pledge page there are three rectangular buttons- two blue ones and ONE RED BUTTON, that reads "CONTACT CONGRESS" . Fill in the short, standard form. Done!

You CAN ALSO HELP BY BRINGING 5 FOLKS TO JOIN the site today, so that we can build a voice big enough that Congress will finally have to listen to us, instead of the lobbyists and special interests, who will certainly try to derail this historic effort.

YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE PLEDGE on the main page. Print out 10 or more of them, get them signed and fax them back ASAP. When we are millions strong, we can achieve this.

THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
…to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.

PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS
We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.

A GROUP FOR EVERYONE Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your area, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.
