Hello Kay;

RE: I Saudi Arabia running out?

Kay, I read the book "Twighlight in the Desert"
The direct answer to your question is, "Yes, the Saudis are not being honest." True story consulting energy companies have spies in all of Saudis ports that estimate how much oil is leaving in the tankers . . . etc. "No the Saudis aren't running out, it's just that it has become very questionalble if they have any spare capacity, very questionable." Without spare oil supplies their ability to manipulate the supply and demand of oil is limited. It seems the quick thumb nail scetch is this; Saudis maximum out put of approximately 10 million barrels accured in 1972-74 and again in 1983, even then it was possible that this drain damaged their reservoirs and anymore production would be self-defeating. Just like the US elephant oil fields the Saudis can artificially pump their wells to infinity, but once the water cut breaks into the oil column (90% water, 10% oil) the ability to just turn the spigut full-open and bring the price down or conversley choke down the spigot to bring the price of crude up has ended. This may have happened and if it has then Peak Oil has happened world wide. For the US Peak Oil production happened in 1972, but was due to demand just as much as it was to do with declining production. It's a probability statistcs concept, Peak Oil.

Hope you did not mind me commenting on this, knowing T-Boone knows, but is probably very busy.
