Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
Back in 1995 I wrote an artical (in ductch) about the human behaving as a plant. There I investigated the change needed to the mindset of western society, to really become green. Since the industrial revolution we have 'burned' our fuel to get ahead and gain enormous wealth (and environmental problems). The 'green' mindset goes against this principle, like a plant we first generate energy, to use it afterwards, but not more. Almost like reversing the thermo dynamic law of destroying something first (burning) to get the energy and power after. If we want to move succesfully into this 'green' era and live by this new principle, a lot of things have to change in our believes, education and our society. Something like: transforming from big spenders into to lean lenders.
What excites you about this campaign?
Mr Pickens and his clear story. As a professional project manager (PMP) I saw him speak at the Orlando PMI Global Congress 11 october. I bought his book and read it. For me it is a surprise and also a bit scary to see a leader at his age promoting this cause. Scary because: where is the young generation with new vision and ideas, who should speak out and carry this idea? A surprise to see what may be also a new trend of the future: age does not matter anymore, if you find your cause and feel good about it, go for it.
What do you want to do to help?
Share some ideas, write some blogs, create awareness in the Netherlands about this important trend, that will have implications far beyond the US alone.

Stop wasting our gallons first!

If we state that the use of fossil fuels are only bad and endanger our planet, we think rather one-dimensional. Probably more important is HOW we use our resources! For example, a big 'hidden' controversy between traditional and alternative energy is, that we could reduce CO2 emissions in the transport/automotive sector with 500%, while still using petrol!

LET ME EXPLAIN HOW:

If we drive our traditional cars and burn a gallon of petrol in a traditional combustion engine, we throw away about 90… Continue

You’ll find other links within the banners at the top of each. You can get you to Daily Pickens and keep up with almost momentary info.

we all need to do our part by beginning at home with our energy usage. We also need to keep hammering our elected officials to allow companies and the private sector to run with new tech and needed infrastructure changes; allowing grants & incentives to help us achieve the energy independence goal!!!
There is a group for almost everything. Type any word of a topic that you would like to see. Do not be afraid to go clickin crazy!!!

The Forums/discussions on this site are many and you’ll probably find something that interests or concerns you. Some are very long and were started months ago. For the ones that concern you, please keep in mind, events are remembered and relayed differently by those commenting, which as we all too well know equals at least three sides to the event. Check out this; a members thoughts as to the present state of our nation.
