Merry Christmas Keller,
This year I have helped so many members learn about personal home energy plans. It's all about power use, conservation, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my energy costs. Send me a friend request a to add me Keller, I'd be honored to have you as a friend here.

BTW, oklahoma: I just posted an article about Home Wind Systems in oklahoma. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "soft policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. You should read that article, important.

Hello Keller, These new roof mounting residential wind turbine kits shipping now. They are sleek and attractive, well designed. These are actually a home appliance on the roof, much like an antennae or satellite dish. They are as easy to install as other home appliances, dishwasher, etc. It's a nice clean way for you to begin a personal energy plan. These systems are inexpensive, easy to install, scaleable.

These kits have wind/solar built right in. Since your wind is stronger in the winter months, sun is stronger in the summer months, this system combines and works with these cycles to give a more even flow of energy year round. Wind power scales down in size to be perfectly feasible for a homeowner sized system to provide power for their home. Many customers have found it easy to become customer/dealers of our kits. Customers can become a dealer with no further investment, they see quickly how people are easy to get interested.

I have used the same systems save money on my electricity costs and Keller, you could too. In your area these systems pay for themselves in 5 to 7 years, your local wind resources are so good, and they last for 25 or 30 years before needing refurbished. Have a look at these windmaps and see can you pinpoint what number your area is in. 2 is OK and anything over 2 is very good. Let's double check your wind resources are good.

Hey man... all I can say to you (realistically) is that we all need to do what we can... I think if 100 people do half of the things I've mentioned in my blog post, nothing will be accomplished....

HOWEVER

if 100 people do half the things I mention in my blog post, and they all tell 100, and they do half, plus tell 100 more, who do half, and tell 100 more, etc. etc. etc.

My point has to be clear... I cant change the world, I'm just hoping to make a dent... slow demand a little bit, buy an extra few seconds for the alternative energy options to become viable and implemented, and tell a bunch of people who will do the same... those precious seconds will add up.

Believe in the power of the word of mouth, especially when its spreading ideas that make sense.

cheers.

Hi. I saw your post on "why did it have to be pickens" and I've been thinking about it.

I say there is no doubt, Mr Pickens is an opportunist... he saw personal opportunity for his business in getting bush elected in '04, now he sees personal opportunity in financing this wind farm.

Good news and good ideas are good, regardless of the source. Clemens Vonnegut, (father of Kurt) once said "if what Jesus said was good, does it matter if he was the son of god?"

Now Pickens sees an opportunity to make himself some cash, and he's exploiting the environmental movement to do so... I say fine. Consequentialist philosophy is results-based... if the net result of this whole thing is that we get more alternative fuels and become less dependant on foreign sources (and a by-product is some opportunist gets rich) I'll grudgingly say "fine by me". I HATE what he and the swift-boaters did, but I hope he is as ruthless about getting clean energy as he was about dirtying Kerry.

In the meantime, we can all do alot of little things to use less energy (and therefore consume less oil)... and in doing so, we can lower our electric bills, raise our gas mileage, and live healthier. I outlined a few ideas in a blog post here http://push.pickensplan.com/forum/topic/show?id=2187034%3ATopic%3A193424 When you get a minute, drop me a line and let me know what you think.
