- Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
- I have used my bicycle as transportation before I had children. I have seen natural gas buses in Denver, CO 10 years ago. That's about it.
I don't own any alternative energy vehicles or solar panels or anything because they are just too expensive for the average consumer. But in my defense -- I am an avid recycler. :)
- What excites you about this campaign?
- It's less excitement than it is almost a panic that there is a disease in our country, and we have got to make it better. I am from Texas, and Mr. Pickens' ideas and rhetoric on America are a cool drink of water to my parched ears. Letting go of a foreign oil addiction is important for my children's America. They are 9 years old and 5 months old -- what kind of America are they going to inherit from us? We need to make a change.
- What do you want to do to help?
- Well, I think I need to take a stand. I am usually reticent about making my opinions known because I don't feel like I have time to research and form my ideas fully. Also, I have a husband who's an attorney, and he will shoot my ideas down quite often -- we know how attorneys are, don't we? He still does the laundry, though.

Welcome aboard! One voice at a time can help change the world. On Feb 7th at 10 am I am going to hold a meeting at the Soccastee Libary in Myrtle beach SC. It is an informal meeting, just a few people getting to gether and sharing with eachother their passion for a cleaner world.

Here is what I am working on -
I have found that petitons are the best way to spread the word AND sign up supporters.
Here is HOW TO TURN THE PLEDGE INTO A PETITION!
I find it easiest to take one pledge, cut off Boone's lines under the pledge and add a sheet of lined paper under the pledge instead. I put NAME - ADDRESS - EMAIL across the top and fill in the first line to set the format. Most are more willing to sign where others have already done so, rather than the single pledge at a time approach. Everyone understands a petition.
I ask if they would "sign this petition in support of T, Boone Pickens energy plan to get us off of foreign oil?" Hand them the clipboard so they can read it. I do not require the signers to give me their email if they are reticent - don't let that be a deal breaker - some just do not want to give it.
Check out the 100CLUB group page to see how others have accomplished the task. (it is the first goup on my page) When you send/fax in 100, let me know, we will gladlyinvite you to be a member of the 100CLUB. Your leadership on this will inspire thousands!
There are over 150 people in the pledge challenge that I know of right now. Surely, there are many more that I am unaware of, as it is in many greetings. Those 150 willl bring 15,000 new members. If each brings just 5 friends, these 150 will be responsible for 75,000 new members.
This is the approach that works best for me - I tried many. Hopefully, this will encourage you to take the challenge, too. CAN YOU HELP?

Of all the people I contacted, you are the only one who nearly gets it. Mr. Pickens owns a company that invests in energy development. You and I cannot invest in that company because it requires a minimum $5 MIL to get in. There are many blogs that are criticizing his plan. Some of those blogs point to and alleged to use the 'masses' to build political will to support his investment company. It part, that's true and necessary. My point is that for those of us that are interested in our future personal well being and who recognize the need to invest money, we need access. It's expensive to manage lots of little investors. But it's necessary for the financial good of the 'army' and to refute the blog pundants who recognize the selfserving aspect of the Plan. I did send this message to Pickens. He's fairly insulated and uses a large staff to field this kind of stuff. It's unlikely that he'll ever read it. Just like the need to build numbers to convince our politicians to get off their ass, numbers of people who want to invest will have to grow in order to get his attention. Do you see what I'm getting at?
As for my offer to manage this, someone has to and his sytem may, as others have pointed out, be bogged down with a system that supports the small investor.

2. Would you be willing to ask your frineds on line and in your life to help with the pledge challenge. Here is a copy of wht I ask.....
"PLEDGES" are the best way to build this army fast. It is an easy ask- Boone has done the hard work. Download them, get them signed, fax them back. When you hit 100, let us know, we will add you to the "100CLUB GROUP. If half the folks that said they would do "anything" to spread the word participated, we would have more than a million supporting this effort in short order.
We are not asking folks to take up arms, but THIS IS OUR REVOLUTION. Do we have the fortitude? Isn't it time to stand up and say NO MORE FOREIGN OIL? ARE YOU IN?

EMAIL A LETTER TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVES BY USING OUR EASY RED "CONTACT CONGRESS" BUTTON
This is urgent, because the Energy Bill in Congress is in danger of not passing! With little effort, we have the ability here for you to send a letter to our Representatives in Washington and Governor, too. Go to THE PLEDGE (at the very top of this page on the blue header) On the top of the pledge page there are three rectangular buttons- two blue ones and ONE RED BUTTON, that reads "CONTACT CONGRESS". Fill in the short, standard form. Done!
You can also help by BRINGING 5 FOLKS TO JOIN the site today, so that we can build a voice big enough that Congress will finally have to listen to us, instead of the lobbyists and special interests, who are trying to derail this historic effort.
YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE PLEDGE on the main page. Print out 10 or more of them, get them signed and fax them back ASAP. When we are millions strong, we can achieve this.
THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
...to wait and see...or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.

PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONS
We need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs, get them to cover this. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.
A GROUP FOR EVERYONE Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your area, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.
