Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
No
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I have lived in a passive solar house most of my life, I now drive a hybrid, and have been an activist for progressive causes most of my life. I believe our government must invest millions in green jobs as quickly as possible, and that Americans must be prepared to change their consumer habits, and live more simply.
What excites you about this campaign?
After much thinking and research i have decided that Al Gore and the organization RepowerAmerica has the correct strategy for our country. The Power Shift organization is the youth organization, now holding the largest climate change conference ever in Wash DC in Feb-March, 2009.
What do you want to do to help?
I want to ask the member of the Pickens Plan to change course and go to the RepowerAmerica website and study the science and proposals there. It is a far better, more sustainable plan!

Morning Kendall!

Will you gather supporters with petitions? We only have 15 days until Congress is sworn in. Time is of the essence.

Here is the petition:
http://media.pickensplan.com/downloads/PP/pollingsignupsheet.pdf

NO INFLUENCE WITHOUT NUMBERS

I have been able to gather hundreds with a simple sentence -
"I am collecting signatures of support for T. Boone PIckens plan to get us off of foreign oil and onto American solutions" then put the petition in front of them. EVERYONE wants to get off foreign oil, we just need to add them to our list!

Please stop by and let me know how it goes. WE CAN DO THIS!
Let me know if I can help in any way.

Best,
Kim

Thank you for your help with NC-11

Good to hear from you, Kendall. I, too, want to see a total mind shift by our government toward sustainability. They need to provide more enticing, direct subsidies and incentives to all willing Americans to better insulate their homes, drive hybrids and other alternative fuel cars, and use public transpotation (among other things). It appears, there's just a hand full of us in this District so far who have signed up because we're more than just concerned about the future of this country and the world in general. I didn't necessarily want to organize but I think it's time to get together and voice our opinions. I live in the Reynolds District. If anybody out there wants to meet after the New Year, I'm game.

Hi Kendall,

Welcome and THANK YOU for joining the Pickens Plan. I just wanted to let you know that a real person out here appreciates you taking that first step.

After you've had a chance to settle in, please let me know if there's anything I can do to guide your path. The basic first steps are reviewing the current topics in the Forum, and when you are comfortable, letting others know about the website. The people here are interested in making the plan a success and those you invite should be able to see for themselves that this is the right place to be.

Here are further steps you might consider.

- Sign up to lead or help on the District page.
- Visit the My Energy page and get involved.
- Work your contacts to increase press coverage.
- Write to congressional representatives directly.
- Use Pickens Action buttons or call (202)225-3121.
- Speak out for ending our dependence on foreign oil.
- Write letters to the editor of your local paper.
- Download flyers/etc from here or here.
- Download the Petition and ask others to sign it.
- Start a company to build wind turbines/solar panels.
- Start a financing firm to invest in those companies.
- Tell everyone you know about PickensPlan.com.

Decide for yourself what you can do, but definitely do something.

Welcome once again, Happy Holidays and thanks for signing up.

Clynton
