- I operate an E85 vehicle. A few months ago, my company developed a business plan to convert existing vehicles to run on ethanol fuel. We had a distribution agreement with a conversion kit manufacturer and then found that if we performed the conversions we could be liable for a fine of up to $25,000 for each installation (1974 EPA regulation)
- What excites you about this campaign?
- I believe if we attack the energy problem several different ways, this problen can be overcome much more quickly than the beaurocrats in Washington anticipate. We need short, medium, and long term strategies.

TRANSPORTATION is the master key to basic survival, and the cornerstone of the economy. We all know that transportation presently depends on oil production, and oil production is peaking. We must focus first on transportation – it is the highest priority. The PickensPlan to transition vehicles to natural gas is a great start toward 100% energy independence, but is a stop-gap measure till we can transition to all electric transportation. Electric energy is strained without adding transportation demands; so we must drastically improve efficiency .
