Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I have investigated alternative energy sources for the past five years. I am familiar with Wind, Solar, Geothermal and Tidal technology. I am seriously considering giving up my job of 21 years and getting into the alternative energy business.
What excites you about this campaign?
There are 6 billion people on the planet. There will be 9 billion by 2050.
There are 300 million of us in the USA. There will be 400 million of us by 2030.
2 billion people on this planet use wood, charcoal or animal dung as a primary source of fuel.
We consume over 140 billion gallons of transportation fuel in the usa per annum.
Energy is the oxygen that drives any economy.
We are running out of fossil based fuels and we need a clean, cost effective alternative. I am in the Offshore and marine business and I travel the world. The world has a serious challenge in front of it with future supplies of energy. Wind and NG are part of the solution for future cost effective supplies of energy. We owe it to our children to give them the same life style that we have enjoyed. I will support this effort with a new level of enthusiam. I am a very good public speaker and can be counted on to participate.
Almost every single person I speak with believes that the Congress and the Senate will do very little to solve the challenge with the future short and long term supply of energy. These same people want a complete new congress and senate. It is my sincere hope that this organization will support an independent candidate for President, Congress and the Senate. Without a solution for energy there is no need to discuss social security, the border issue or the Iraq war. Withour cost effitive energy the future is pretty dull for us.
Lets make this the first step on the long road to energy independence. The first step is always the hardest.
What do you want to do to help?
I can organize my area of League City, get people to sign petitions, give speeches on the reality of the energy challenges that face us now and in the future. I have followed Mr. Pickens for the past year, watch him on Tv and read about his efforts with Wind Energy. I support the Man and his organization. I am off to Brasil this wekend. If you need data from Petrobras on alternative fuels let me know and I will forward it on.

Happy New Year Kevin,
Last year I helped so many members of Pickens Plan learn about personal home energy plans. It's all about conservation of power, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my electricity costs. Send me a friend request a to add me Kevin, I'd be honored to have you as a friend here.
BTW, Texas: I just posted an article link on my pickens page about Home Wind Systems in Texas. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "weak policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. Texas has created multiple sets of rules for loopholes and you have less rights than people in other states. You should read that article, important.
Welcome and THANK YOU for joining Pickens Plan. Here is how you can help. I am contacting to ensure you are kept abreast of current events.
EMAIL A LETTER TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVES BY USING OUR EASY RED "CONTACT CONGRESS" BUTTON -This is urgent, because the Energy Bill in Congress is in danger of not passing! With little effort, we have the ability here for you to send a letter to our Representatives in Washington and Governor, too. Go to THE PLEDGE (at the very top of this page on the blue header) On the top of the pledge page there are three rectangular buttons- two blue ones and ONE RED BUTTON, that reads "CONTACT CONGRESS" . Fill in the short, standard form. Done!
YOU CAN ALSO HELP BY BRINGING 5 FOLKS TO JOIN the site today, so that we can build a voice big enough that Congress will finally have to listen to us, instead of the lobbyists and special interests, who are trying to derail this historic effort.
YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE PLEDGE on the main page. Print out 10 or more of them, get them signed and fax them back to Boone ASAP. This is how we build our numbers fast! Be a leader, be a part of the "100 CLUB", by faxing in 100 signed pledges. Let me know when you are done and I will add you to the list.
PICKENS U has been formed for college and university students to get involved. If you know of a student who would like to become am ambassador to helped coordiinate the pledge drive please submit names to Pickens U site. This would be good for job resume.
THERE IS NO TIME TO DELAY
…to wait and see…or to see if someone else will step up to the plate. It is time for US to roll up our sleeves and go to work. Right now momentum is working in our favor, but if gas prices retreat, the public will forget the pain, and our moment may be lost.

PERSONAL ACTION OPTIONSWe need to do more than “preach to the choir”. Sharing ideas with each other is encouraging but that will not 1) increase our membership nor 2) influence public policy. If you know someone in the press or someone who blogs - get them to cover this. Ask those in the public eye to support this plan.
A GROUP FOR EVERYONE. Join the Guides and Materials for New Members Group. Lot's of good information there.
Check out the many groups for Solar, CNG, your area, etc. Connect, learn and share. We grow stronger with your input. If you don't see a group that speaks to your interest, then start a group of your own.
Kevin, I agree with you and believe that there is no more important issue in this election cycle and through the promotion and integration of renewable energy into our society we can be in an empowered position to tackle the other mounting issues of our time. I have started a group to organize people passionate about taking the momentum of our movement to demonstrate and educate in Denver at the DNC. I would like to get your opinion and hopefully your involvement in crafting a potent message and strategy for Pickens Plan to become a huge part of the discourse at the DNC. We need everyone that we can muster within the movement. Here is the treatment I have prepared for the group and the link:
Going to the DNC for Pickens?
This is a non-partisan group for all of the people who are passionate about ensuring that the issue of renewable energy is not ignored during the Democratic National Convention and that there are opportunities there to demonstrate and educate others on this issue that matters so much. Please join if you are attending the events in Denver or have any ideas as to how we as a movement can organize together and make energy independence an even bigger part of the convention.
We all share a common goal. Check our our Pickens group at "Live Carbon Free" and see what we are promoting. Conservation is a way for us to bridge the gap to the future of alternative energy. Alternative energy of any kind is a few years away from implementing and we can make a huge impact by simple discipline in our lifestlyes. We welcome you to join us at Live Carbon Free and value your input. I am also a member of another organization working is this area. Check it out at www.usgreenhome.info.
Hello! My name is Andrew Lewis. I'm an official Online Organizing Director for Picken's Plan notifying you of a call to action.
We are gearing up house parties in communities all over the United States to spread the word about Picken's Plan and get communities plugged in to real renewable energy reform.
Since your the creator of this group I was curious if you may know some people making plays in your group who would be interested in hosting a house party. The more house parties the better!
Kevin - were the cars in Brazil a Hybrid NG and E85 - - or - - is it that you had the choice to buy a NG car OR a FFV.
I am in the Dallas area - I would love to have a E85/Electric Hybrid car if they were readily available to the average person.
Decentralized alcohol distributers could be developed in each small community (homeowners garage). I dont have the know how but I would purchase ethanol from someone who would.
Kevin: I'm from LC also - a native. I am glad to see there are others locally who realize the need to make changes. You're right, the first step is always the hardest. Would be interested in working locally to do what we can to get the word out about TBP's plan. Like you, I believe in Pickens. He's a sharp man and when he says oil's "done", he should know!
Kevin, I am in the Dallas area.. love to meet and talk and work toward something. Let us know how we can help. All the great things that have happened in our history have started with people "assembling" and DOING
Kevin, I like your idea for a Texas get together. Would you be willing to be coordinate that for the group? I think the first step would be to send a note to Brian who is the Pickenplan online director to get his buy-in. He may be willing be needed if we want Pickens, media etc. Brett@PickensPlan.com
The next step would be to choose a location and time. We could start with a city and day to get it on people's calendar, and go from there. Let me know what you think.
