Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
Not much, just what I have read and I am trying to learn more. There is so much to learn and so much contradictory information to sort through it's hard to know what to believe. This web site has helped me get better information and a truer understanding of what alternatives are available.
What excites you about this campaign?
The UNITY! Many people coming together to make a difference simutaneously. Boone has started a Nationwide movement and it is catching on fast. The gathering of info being presented in a manner that makes it feasable to get a better understanding from many perspectives. This movement will allow many to communicate and work together to make a difference because there is strength in numbers.
What do you want to do to help?
Whatever I can to help things move forward. I have already shared the Pickens Plan with everyone I know and have sent emails to my state rep and to local politicians as well. I would love to get more going but am not sure what would be best suited. I want to be prepared so I represent the Plan in a good and favorable light so people will hear and respond to what we are trying to achieve.

Hi Kim;

Please consider becoming part of the discussion/idea of
improving America's Energy Picture, by the employment of
"Peak Shaving" methods. Not just reducing your Power Consumption,
but reducing it in a more comfortable, yet still very effective and economic manner.

We're moving because we both got jobs in publishing and port security marine sector. So, because the yacht industry has not been affected by the recession, we're moving as close to Ft. Lauderdale as we can afford right now.

kimberly,
We are relocating to Pt. St. Lucie in October and are excited to see that the community is active with its landfill gas recycling program! We will gladly participate in any Pickens Plan function there.

Thanks for the link to greenbuilding.org. Obviously I am not up to date on the project FPL is doing. Last I heard it was canned but after your statement I asked my hubby and he said it was back on but different from the original plan (on the beach). Working 6-7 day weeks 10-12 hour days makes keeping up difficult. What site are you tracking the progress of the FPL project? Thanks for the info!

Here is a link to the Florida Building Council. Many city council's
of Florida home democracies are undergoing a green audit where
membership to this or the other group is recommended.

Buildings are a major contributor to pollution we need to reform
our building codes.

Thanks for your reply.
I am watching the St. Lucie project. where did you get your updated information?

Meanwhile I came across this website from another forum here. This is what I had envisioned and it is actually out there.

It solves many problems with wind turbines in Florida.

Hi Kimberly, glad to be your friend. I'm no expert in alternative energy resources. My comments and discussions come mostly from getting familiar with the Plan and learning about Mr. Pickens history in business. I was a business management consultant for a government program (MBDC) for many years and appreciate what our government can do, many in this plan don't.
The most important part of the Plan is replacing gasoline and diesel with natural gas and it gets the least attention. One of the most important groups in my opinion is: http://push.pickensplan.com/group/cngconversionkitsandtheirvehicles >and it has the least members, please join and pitch in. Sincerely, FredDC
