- Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
- I have a corn burning furnace to heat my house. I am currently looking for a waste oil source to make bio-diesel for my truck. I am interested in purchasing a windmill for home, but don't know where to get financing or where to start with this type of project.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- I agree that we send too much money out of the country to purchase oil, and this is certainly the reason for the US currently being in Iraq. Hopefully we will not get sucked into Iran over their recent oil bourse policy change, much like what drew us into Iraq.
- What do you want to do to help?
- There are no natural gas supply stations in Iowa. The city of Des Moines and Polk County recently auctioned off all of their NG vehicles because their supplier closed shop, and they couldn't fuel them any more. I would like to bring a NG fuel station(s) back to central Iowa. I would also like to become involved with wind energy projects throughout the upper midwest. The Pickens wind farm buildout could easily expand north, as Iowa and South Dakota have a lot of sparsely populated agriculture area that is very windy. Having lived in Texas and Iowa, I can say that Iowa is windier than Texas.
