Thank you for the friend. I hope you join your local congressional district- they would be happy for the local support.
If we can get Washington to buy into this, there will be many changes for our economy AND our environment, as well as our national security and pride. I look forward to the day when we all benefit by being able to participate as consumers of affordable renewables.
First things first....
We need to build support for this historical effort to monumental levels - until there will be no place for our leaders to hide. It will be political suicide for them not to get this done! THEN, WE will have made the difference. If we do not take advantage of this moment in history we get what we deserve. Our forefathers had to do so much to fight for their future, this is so much easier, but no less critical. I love what you said, "this campaign empowers people to make a difference!"
WE CAN DO THIS. THERE IS NO INFLUENCE WITHOUT NUMBERS.
Please, Larry, download a petition or two, fill it in and fax it in! If you find "like thinkers" along the way, ask them to do the same. (the live link is in my original message to you, below) One at a time, we can build this, until the paradigm of thought on energy shifts in this country changes and we accept nothing less than wholesale movement away from foreign oil and toward self sufficiency!
You do not need to get folks to sign it in person. One of the girls who collects support for our group does it all through friends on the phone. A simple phone call to ask if she can sign them up as supporters of the plan to get us off foreign oil and onto American solutions. She got more than 40 in a few hours.
Half were family!

After you've had a chance to settle in, please let me know if there's anything I can do to help. The basic first steps are reviewing the current topics in the Forum, and inviting others to the website when you're comfortable. The people here want to do something to foster energy independence and those you invite will find that joining us is the right thing to do.
Here are further steps you might consider, some of which you may have already taken.
- Sign up to lead or volunteer on the Local District page.
- Visit your My Energy page and get involved.
- Get involved with others in your City or State.
- Find and connect with a like-minded Group.
- Start or join a Campus/Alumni group at PickensU.
- Work your contacts to increase press coverage.
- Write to congressional representatives directly.
- Use Pickens Action buttons or call (202) 225-3121.
- Speak out for ending our dependence on foreign oil.
- Write letters to the editor of your local paper.
- Download flyers/etc from here or here.
- Download the Petition and ask others to sign it.
- Start a company to build wind turbines/solar panels.
- Start a financing firm to invest in those companies.
- Tell everyone you know about PickensPlan.com.
Decide for yourself what you can do, but definitely do something.

We are a voluntary community of individuals who are placing our combined support behind T. Boone Pickens and his efforts to send our government a clear (heard) message that we must reduce our nation’s dependence on foreign oil through the use of all domestic energy alternatives. This site is a place to interact with fellow Pickens Plan supporters, keep up with events and opportunities to help get more involvement.

For the ones that concern you, please keep in mind, events are remembered and relayed differently by those commenting, which as we all too well know equals at least three sides to the event.
