Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I have wanted to get a wind farm on 100 acres of HIGH land
that I own in N.E. Nebraska ( 300 feet higher than surrounding
plains) and is close to Sioux City, and already has two grid
lines running through the property. I want to have a wind farm
on this property ( for years now!!!!)
What excites you about this campaign?
We need to make a bridge to the future from a fossil fueled bonanza that is FINITE!!!! It is the most important thing facing mankind at this time, or ever!
What do you want to do to help?
Get wind electric generators on my property AND surrounding properties and supply electricity to Dakota City, NE, and Sioux City, NE

Where were you??? ( Topeka Town Hall)

It seems from this Pickens group, many, potentially good, ideas are circulating that relate to renewable energy. Also, there is mention of the shale oil in North Dakota. I read one estimate that put the volume of recoverable oil in North Dakota at 4.00 BBl. If that were true, It would only supply America's oil thirst for 6 months. This makes getting alternative fuels in place so incredibly obviously necessary immediately. Get this plan going!

Another interesting idea I have stumbled across, Algae growers in El Paso, TX , claim to be able to produce about 1000 times the oil per acre as corn based ethanol. Are these claims for investor gathering, or can they also be true?

Live Within Our Energy Budget.

I have been aware that we, as humans, not just Americans, have been living beyond our means for quite some time now. I don't mean that we have been spending more money than we have been making --- we have been using more energy than we are getting.

The problem that we face is gargantuan. It is planet wide, and we are facing an extreme wake up call to LIVE WITHIN OUR ENERGY BUDGET!

I am not talking about America's dependence on foreign oil, I am talking about the human race's addiction to fossi… Continue

ABOUT HOME WIND TURBINE SYSTEM:

Hi Lars, Have a look at these windmaps and see can you pinpoint what number your area is in. 2 is OK and anything over 2 is very good. Let's double check your wind resources are good.

Check Your Wind Resources, Wind Maps

The rooftop unit has everything with it as a matched kit of components. It's really a handyman level install, many folks put it in themselves and many have an electrician finish it up for safety. Pay by credit card, paypal secured, takes me about 1 week to ship, UPS Ground.

That comes with the whole Wind Turbine, Blades, Cone, Tail, Roofmount Kit, Charge Controller, Two Solar Panels, Hardware, and Inverter. The whole Kit of matched components. I sell units daily so, they will be subject to availability. Did you see the blog post about the 30% federal tax break law, as soon as word got out on that new tax incentive just passed, bam.
Here's a link to most of the details about the rooftop kits and becoming a dealer if you are interested.

Hey Lars, I just wanted to remind you to try and get your friends and family to join the Kansas group too. We really need to grow the group so we can show there is enough support for the Pickens Plan in Kansas!

Hi Lars,

Yes I have seen Who killed the electric car. I believe that we need to look at "all" alternative energy available to us to bridge the gap. Electric, natural gas, hydrogen, biodiesel, wind, solar, etc.

Has been a little challenging moving here from Boulder. Boulder has been embracing alternative energy sources for awhile and more green career opportunties. However, I will say it is going to be exciting to see things take off here in Nebraska.

Our economic recession and the rise in gas prices have pushed alternative energy to the forefront.

I sent you a message but for the rest that check our pages, No. I didn't hear any info from anyone about going. It would have been nice to meet everybody and find a direction to take the Nebr. group. How do we get more organized so we're all on the same page if we try this again?

Lars, I'm out in west O.. about 144th and Maple. I couldn't make it to Le Mars and I won't be able to get to Lincoln tomorrow unfortunately. I'm still up in the air about this weekend's meeting too. I really want to go as I think we can get more going locally if we can all get together at the same time to discuss vs blogging on this site. This site brought us together, now we need to see what we can do in terms of 'action'. :)

Lars, Check out http://www.nebraskascrewpress.com/ There was an article on Nebraska Screw Press a few weeks ago in the Omaha World Herald, but I can't find it now. NSP is located in Lyons not too far from your farm I'd guess. If I recall correctly Lyons passed a proclomation stating they are a 'green' city. I believe NSP is going to be used to compress algae into oil.

Lars, I am having to approve things now to keep the nasties at bay. Sorry about that..

I ordered just one of the yard signs from VistaPrint. I am proud of it. VistaPrint is easy to use..and the cost goes down when you buy more than one. (shipping can get costly.) I put together a cafepress store today..still working on it.

So what's going on in Omaha?

Lars,

Just thought of something and you're probably way ahead me, but have you heard of Nebraska Screw Press? Google it and check out what this Robert Byrnes(sp?) is doing. Scott Kleeb, Democratic Senate candidate told me he met with the guy last Friday and it was wild. Just as you pointed out in your Page intro about the algae in TX, this guy is capturing oils form every kind of seed imaginable and is ramped up about algae. In fact, he's building algae pools on top of all his buildings. And he's just up the road in Lyons. Jeff

Hi Lars, Are you going to the Town Hall meeting in Le Mars, IA? I meant to ask what your daughter thought of the Topeka meeting?

By the way, I have post cards ordered. If you have a meeting or whatever planned, let me know. I'm using them to promote Pickens Plan to seniors groups. I'm be happy to mail a few with your meeting's time and place. Also, we ordered the above this morning on a yard sign.
