Presidential bid

Having recognized that the real reason we are all here is to add credible numbers of grassroots supporters to the Pickens Plan, and having recognized that, at least in terms of energy, the federal government has been more of a hindrance than a help, and knowing as I do that the next four years will likely be more of the same... change, perhaps, but to what end, I have decided to do the unthinkable: run for President in 2012. Come to my website at LeeIn2012Continue

A Modest Proposal

For purposes of this proposal some assumptions will be made. It is likely that these assumptions will change over time, as will other parts of the proposal.

ASSUMPTIONS

1) A great deal of running around touting the benefits of one energy plan over another will likely be viewed as incoherent and confusing to the general public.
2) Some of the best ideas come from people who are ill-equipped to see them through to completion.
3) Those ideas or devices which are most likely to win the race to kil… Continue

On Partisan Politics

This letter is addressed to all those who hold elected public office in this, the country of my birth, and to those who feed at the trough of partisan politics you oversee, whether you are lobbyists, writers, commentators, pundits or pollsters. I paint here with a broad brush; I cast th… Continue

On the nature of Talk, Wealth, and the One-Trick pony.

I was mightily surprised this morning to awaken to a wealth of comments regarding my last post. Thank you all. I have read and considered each comment more that once. You all have much to offer. And I want to understand what you are saying. I suppose that I'm one of those relatively rare individuals who allows his mind to be changed by cogent argument. And all of this talk--this hot air--does have an important role to play, given the challenges both on our collective doorstep those that are stil… Continue

And why not.

There are literally hundreds of workable options out there for helping solve the problem Pickens so clearly identifies, and all will eventually likely be tested in the free market; some will be implemented because they are profitable all-around. Anything that fails the test of free enterprise and requires governmental subsidy should be viewed with great suspicion (at least until we know that we can once again trust the governmental powers that be to do anything at all that is in the best interes… Continue

Profile Information

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
No
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I lived on a Caribbean island where fresh water was always in short supply, requiring the use of residential collection and filtration systems. Governmental obstacles impeded the development and distribution of alternative power options. Most vehicles on the island were electric.
What excites you about this campaign?
Non-partisan, clear, focused, and doable NOW.
What do you want to do to help?
I can do great graphic arts and simple web design. I'd love to be able to do graphic arts related to the plan, and allow unrestricted use by members. You can see some of my work at LeeV2.com, where you can also learn more about the man behind the name.

Hello Lawrence,

I want to personally thank you for joining the SEE effort here on the PP. If you have any energy right now that you might want to put in the direction of SEE (ie. getting friends to join, etc.), it would be greatly appreciated. Also check out our new Global SEE site (See below). I would appreciate any comments that you might have on that new site.

FYI: We are now expanding SEE to be able to grow a membership beyond the Picken’s Plan. Please come visit us at the Global SEE and invite your PP and personal friends to also visit.

Hi Lawrence,

Thanks for joining the SEE group. I applaud the energy that you express towards achieving the goals of the PP. SEE is by no means mainline yet, but followers such as yourself will help to bring about its wider acceptance. As I have often said SEE will be in our future, it is just a matter of how soon!

Welcome aboard!

Hey Lawrence,

I hope you still in the saddle and managing to plug along. clippity clop...clippity clop

Thanks for looking at the elephant and giving your input. I look forward to hearing more from you along those lines.

Lawrence, I came across Tedi May yesterday. She is working on a project that I'm sure you can relate to. You might drop in on her for a visit.

Hi Lawrence,

I want to invite you to check out the Artists Round-Up group.

Because I knew of no other way to do this on this site I decided to create the project in the form of a group. Although, at least in it's beginning stages, the group is really more of a roster for artists to sign in and make themselves know to each other and to all those who are involved in the Pickens Plan than it is an actual group. It is possible though, and not unexpected, that it perhaps will sooner or later evolve into being a genuine group and doing and having as a genuine group.

For now though, I both invite and encourage you to at least go and check the group out. Once you see the set up you'll know whether it's for you or not. And if the purpose of the Artists Round-Up group does not indicate to you maybe there are others you know who might be interested. In such a cirucumstance I would, of course, appreciate your telling them about the group.

Thanks.

Hello Lawrence,

You certainly do create great graphics! My name is RoseMarie LaCoursiere, I launched this new group over the weekend. I'm thrilled to have you here and must say that with the upcoming launch of the pickensmejobs.com website I want to create you might well have a field day with me!

I created the PICKens Me logo with what I had to work with;)
(You can only imagine.....) All good stuff, all to create and inspire, to do good and make the spectacular happen.

By the way, you may want to visit my company website of virginmoontrading.com it is based in the Caribbean and I know precisely of your experiences mentioned re water and electric cars...

All the best,
RoseMarie LaCoursiere

Lawrence,

I apologize for cluttering you with email. All I was trying to do was to get my message out and using mass email is an effective way to do it. I realize though some people may get ticked off being bombarded with the same email from one person. I wish there was another way to do it without sending the message directly to peoples' personal email. There should a bulletin so people can send bulletins to all members on PickensPlan once, instead of having to send the emails to individual groups. Say, they send a bulletin to the bulletin page that is accessible from each member's page. I apologize again for disturbing you.
