Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I have very little experience with alternative energy. But I am the mother of five children and I don't want their future revolving around dependence upon foreign governments. We installed an Energy Star hot water heater alternative. This only heats water as we need it rather than having a tank full that requires constant power to maintain the temperature. We installed a wood burning stove 4 years ago because we could no longer afford to heat our home with propane. We use only wood from fallen trees. We have not paid anything for home heating and have saved thousands of dollars. We recycle and plant new trees and plants to replace what we consume. I would like to do more to conserve and would be delighted to be involved with alternative energy. My husband and his family own nearly 2000 acres of farm land that would be perfect for wind power but they do not know where to begin. The farm is located in South Dakota. I am very intrigued by Mr. Pickens' plan. I'm sending it to everyone I know.
What excites you about this campaign?
I am excited that someone is echoing what my husband and I discuss on a daily basis. I'm hopeful that we may actually see something happen in our lifetime.
What do you want to do to help?
I can help spread the word and increase our level of responsible consumption. I'm not sure what else I can do but am willing to learn.

ABOUT HOME WIND TURBINE SYSTEM:

Hi Lisa, Have a look at these windmaps and see can you pinpoint what number your area is in. 2 is OK and anything over 2 is very good. Let's double check your wind resources are good.

Check Your Wind Resources, Wind Maps

The rooftop unit has everything with it as a matched kit of components. It's really a handyman level install, many folks put it in themselves and many have an electrician finish it up for safety. Pay by credit card, paypal secured, takes me about 1 week to ship, UPS Ground.

That comes with the whole Wind Turbine, Blades, Cone, Tail, Roofmount Kit, Charge Controller, Two Solar Panels, Hardware, and Inverter. The whole Kit of matched components. I sell units daily so, they will be subject to availability. Did you see the blog post about the 30% federal tax break law, as soon as word got out on that new tax incentive just passed, bam.
Here's a link to most of the details about the rooftop kits and becoming a dealer if you are interested.

yeah I'm extra concerned with our energy crisis. I'm tired of depending on imported energy supplies. We need to drill here in America, thank goodness the future looks brighter with drilling since the ban is suppose to be lifted this next week. I've been considering converting my car to run on natural gas since I can fill it up @ psnc energy. My only problem is that the closest place that I've found that converts average cars to run on natural gas is Pennsylvania. I can buy the kit online for a whopping $3,500! But I drive about 60,000 miles a year it would take no time to pay myself back.
