Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
No
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I realize there needs to be a change in how we power our lives, but I am still not sure how to make the change to our fuel sources is going to be economically reasonable for busness owners and consumers. I don't see any change as quick, so drilling here at home MUST happen in the short term and alternative fuel sources MUST begin for the future.
What excites you about this campaign?
SOMEBODY is taking the lead on an idea. Everyone talks about something needs to change, and this provides the first real publicly published plan for changing our energy sources.
What do you want to do to help?
Continue to educate myself and talk to others around me about this plan and others should they come out. Also, I would like to put my money on companies that are progressive in alternative fuel source technology and vote on candidates that agree that our slavery to the middle east must end.

Happy New Year LisaL,
Last year I helped so many members of Pickens Plan learn about personal home energy plans. It's all about conservation of power, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my electricity costs. Send me a friend request a to add me LisaL, I'd be honored to have you as a friend here.
BTW, Texas: I just posted an article link on my pickens page about Home Wind Systems in Texas. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "weak policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. Texas has created multiple sets of rules for loopholes and you have less rights than people in other states. You should read that article, important.
Wow! You disagree with everyone here? Do you know what is even going on? Bush is the reason gas is so high and also why not enough government assests are being invested in alternative fuel sources. The Center for Responsive Politics finds that McCain has accepted over $1 million from the oil and gas industry. Many of McCain's top advisers have lobbied for big oil, which is why he now acts in their best interests, opposing environmental legislation and alternative energy plans. McCain is desperate to distance himself from President Bush. But according to the Center for American Progress Action Fund, McCain has received millions in donations from the same oil, coal, chemical, utility, and auto companies that helped the Bush administration create its energy plan that has raised gasoline to $4 a gallon. Do some research before you down a person whom you obviously know little about. And yes, free speech is wonderful.
I disagree with all of you. This is a very political issue. My motivation is not living "Carbon Free" but to prevent my child and her countrymen from being slaves to countries and cultures who seek to kill us and our way of life. To me and many, many others, this is not about changing our culture but preserving it. The enemy is out there in oil producing countries, not on Fox News. Thank God we live in a country where free speech is still sacred. Thank you for exercising yours when disagreeing with my point of view.
Why bash Obama? What does he have to do with NBC? I agree with Joy, when I read your comment my first thought was to withdrawl from the Pickins Plan...such ignorance has no place on the Pickins web site. Please begin to educate yourself as you state you wish to above.
I agree with Joel. NBC has the GE agenda. GE has no stake in natural gas utilization technology. Their business is jet turbine engines, electric motors, hydroelectric tech, etc. Let's leave partisanship out of this; it doesn't help advance the cause, does it?
Hi, Lisa,
Democratic candidates, like other Americans, are in favor of alternative energy. Divisive comments will only torpedo this important effort. Please try to keep political attacks out of this forum so we can all work together for a better future.
We all share a common goal. Check our our Pickens group at "Live Carbon Free" and see what we are promoting. Conservation is a way for us to bridge the gap to the future of alternative energy. Alternative energy of any kind is a few years away from implementing and we can make a huge impact by simple discipline in our lifestlyes. We welcome you to join us at Live Carbon Free and value your input. I am also a member of another organization working is this area. Check it out at www.usgreenhome.info.
