- I don't have any but, realize that Mr. Pickens is an innovator and clearly, we need to support him and people like him who have the money and credibility to get something going. I will stand up, step forth and support his plan in any way that I can!! Thank you T. Boone Pickens - you are a hero!
- What excites you about this campaign?
- Every part of it! I heard Mr. Pickens on Larry King Live and was so proud. He is a voice in the wilderness - he is common sense where we thought all was lost. The wind, solar and natural gas options are the most exciting. Please explain if coal can burned cleanly - I don't think most people can get past the "dirty coal" issues.
- What do you want to do to help?
- I am a business owner and am married to it 7 days a week. So, while I am here all the time, I can't do a lot but, I am willing to talk to anyone who will listen, displaying any type of literature, putting a sticker on my strorefront windows, just whatever I can do to get people interested and spread the Pickens Plan! I have a cousin in West Texas who has been approached about putting wind turbines on her property - I told her not to wait!! Do it now!! So, you tell me, what are my options to help? I'm ready, willing and able to help!!

Last year I helped so many members of Pickens Plan learn about personal home energy plans. It's all about conservation of power, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my electricity costs. Send me a friend request a to add me Lora, I'd be honored to have you as a friend here.
BTW, Texas: I just posted an article link on my pickens page about Home Wind Systems in Texas. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "weak policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. Texas has created multiple sets of rules for loopholes and you have less rights than people in other states. You should read that article, important.
No, no - I wasn't talking about Boone having a "Drill Here, Drill Now" petition. That's already been done by Newt Gingrich. What I was wondering was if Boone had a petition regarding "alternative issues" that we could all sign that would have the same effect as the "Drill Here, Drill Now" petition had when Newt's group: American Solutions presented it to Washington.
It is my understanding that Newt's petition had over one million signatures on it (mine included) that got the attention of our polititcians. It was instrumental in showing them how serious Americans are about the crisis of foreign oil dependency.
That's where I was coming from with my question.
i don't think Pickens has a petition for the drill now drill here i think hes is leaving that out on purpose as to not taint his message of new energy sources otherwise the left wold say he's out trying to corner the market and that he's only out to enrich himself But he has said every time he has been interviewed that we need an all of the above approach including drilling here and now. It has actually been one of the most hotly debated questions here many think that (pickens plan) is a place to come out against Oil and say we don't need it, or not to drill for anymore, they are clueless of course and don't care if the economy tanks. many of "us" are education them unfortunately politics and energy go hand in hand thanks to global warming scam so we must be vigilant and not let people like Nancy Pelosi further harm our economy. so this really is ending up as a place for education and discussion after all what an you as a private individual do to help??
only one thing for most of us VOTE! and make sure your congressional representatives do the bidding of the majority and what is good for the country not the environmentalists/lobbyists or the new energy policies will be that of the lobbyist and your tiny single voice will be lost.

If we can not get critical numbers how can we take advantage of this golden opportunity? High gas prices have "woken up" America to our plight and a paradigm shift like not other is in the wind. We need to do this now.
So many new members write "I want to help, what can I do?" This is a start. We may not get to the next step if we can not get this one done. Our leaders can not ignore millions of members of the Pickens Plan. We are not there yet. .
I have put a sign in my car window that reads...

I have run a small, inexpensive advertisement on the headlines page of our local online newspaper that gets 3 million hits per month with the same message. I have small business card size notes that I can give to friends with the same message. It's grass roots, but that is what this is going to take.
If you have a connection to the press- get them to cover this.
If you know someone who blogs- get them to cover this.
If you can write a letter to your Representative or Senator- get them to see this.
We added close to 4,000 members yesterday.... it should be 10 times that!

Welcome to the Pickens plan. We all share the same goal; to rid ourselves of foreign oil and clean up our environment. Some of us just have a broader vision of what we need to do. Check out our group "Live Carbon Free" and see how we are promoting conservation and environmental stewardship as the bridge to future energy developments.
