Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:

Working on ranches in West Texas many years ago we had wind generator as some of the homesites. In the early 1950's, we used butane/gasoline in our pickups. While working in Thailand, I was in the process of building solar hot water heater, never finished the project.

What excites you about this campaign?

I have been working on a related project for the past year. I am in the process of forming consortiums with many Texas Veterans. I have a complete program set up. My plans are to make each consortium self contained and contiguous where we could build the fence on the property or property line. Each consortium will be called a Fort (name) and when 100 to 125 Texas Veterans are funded and start building their homestead on the property we will apply for annexation as a Texas Type B General Law city, therefore we can get grants and loans to continue the development. I had planned on having wind power and transmissions lines on the property also to generate electricity and leases for those units. The plan is to make each consortium completely self contained as were the ranches I worked on many years ago.
Also the tall towers could be lookout towers or electronic devices to protect our border with Mexico. The Tx Vets could work in that capacity, in addition help build and maintain the wind generators. Most of these Tx Vets are also pilots and highly skilled with years of experience in all kinds of skills.

What do you want to do to help?

I want to corrdinate your program with mine so we can all have mutual support and funding. We would have to sit down and see how the two programs would support each other. I have written the Texas Veterans Commissioner Mr. Jerry Paterson to see if he will support this Texas Veteran program. I have not had a reply as of yet. I am continuing on with the program with or without the Texas Government assistance.

BTW, Texas: I just posted an article link on my pickens page about Home Wind Systems in Texas. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "weak policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. Texas has created multiple sets of rules for loopholes and you have less rights than people in other states. You should read that article, important.

Not much wind down in that part of country but HAWT might work if we have enough incentives that can flow back to investors. But you do have a lot of sun ( 5.8 suns a day...I think might even be higher)

Mrs. Grey and I are happy that you have joined this group and we hope that your involvement with this effort will be rewarding for you and your children.
