I saw the same program and was very impressed with that company in Greenville, MI. There is no reason why we can't do more here. It will create jobs and I just heard that the government will now allow tax credits for energy efficient repairs or installations to homes. I knew about tax credits for windows and doors (which I took advantage of last two or three years - for my shore place and another condo). Maybe my new heating system, just installed will also qualify. My son is a certified "Green" architect in Atlanta - currently unemployed (can you believe it! - he worked for Chrysler...as their facilities architect for the South, based in Atlanta). Can you imagine how much energy would have been generated the last few days with all the wind we had? Where are the windmills? GE is heavily involved - their stock is WAY low right now - but they'll come back once the economy picks up. Here's hoping!

Hi Lynn! Thankyou for your comment.I've always believed Solar Power is the way to go.(I also believe in wind power too.)We all get sunshine (and wind),I
just saw a story on TV about a Solar Company called United Solar Ovonics in Greenville Michigan. If I had extra cash to invest I would do so in this company.I think the story said something like 80% of their product is sold overseas.(mainly europe/germany.Europe is SO way ahead of us in living green!))
WOW a US company that sells more abroad than here! I believe soon they will be selling alot of solar film/panels here in the states. My prayers go out to all of us in the same boat.We need to start making things again here in the states & stop shipping our manufacturing base elsewhere.

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
Several years ago as I traveled through Germany I was struck by the windmills that are in use along country roads. I was very impressed and told everyone here in the U.S. about it I also was struck by the many private homes that had solar panels on their roofs, including those of some of my cousins.

I am retired and would not mind becoming involved in an alternative energy program in Pennsylvania. I hear from some retired friends that their heating bills have soared to as high as $350/month. That's 1/3 of their Social Security income and simply unacceptable. We MUST embrace these new technologies to supplement our oil and natural gas resources in order to become energy independent.
What excites you about this campaign?
I am excited that people are coming together as Americans and doing their part to make this country better. As a naturalized American, I too want to assist in making this country better for everyone. President Obama has called on each of us to do our part to volunteer our service to our country and I believe that together we can improve our lives.
What do you want to do to help?
I am not sure where I would need to begin - but I am willing to listen to anyone who has ideas in promoting the Pickens Plan.
