Transition has Run Its Course
It is time to start picking sides and making political noises. The two parties that dominate US politics seem intent on making certain that no one else gets a say. Even if you don't agree w/the Tea Party or the Progressives, they deserve to be heard and so far, all that I hear is Democratic groveling and Republican whinnying.
About that New Kind of Leadership?
Back in January I tried to clarify what I thought about T. Boone Pickens. I explained how he formed this online organization, Pickens Plan http://push.pickensplan.com to publicize the inadequate nature of the United States' national energy policy.
I still think that he offers a partial solution which is related to his business interests in wind energy conversion and natural gas. That was before the Japanese Tsunami and the subsequent revelation of how inadequate the 'best' nuclear program on the planet is at dealing with known potential dangers.
I can still see a great benefit to the organization of this political action collaboration that is not aligned with any national political party. The opportunity for the Democrats and Obama to prove themselves has come and gone and they get a C+ grade from me. Likewise, the Republican Newbies who purchased their way into office last November must now be measured by the tape with which they applied to the Obama Administration. It has been over 120 days and what have they done to make America a better place?
Now it is time for us to raise our voices and make the Pickens Army a vocal and active constituent that can't be ignored.
You may recall that I described Mr. Pickens’ role in our uniquely American collaboration as one that is part cheerleader and part point man. We need to start using uses his notoriety and personality as a resources to lead the band while working to position our community interests at advantage in the political battles that are beginning NOW!. This isn't individual leadership, it is an opportunity to participate in coordinated leadership on a specific point. That point is what does a National Energy Policy mean to YOU!
Saddle Up! It's Time To Ride!
We have watched and studied enough and if we are going to retain our precious freedoms, its time to get involved.
"We need leaders, but we can not depend solely on elected officials. Given their duty to represent all of the people, even those opposed to their ideology, elected officers are incapable of acting in expeditious manners. This is where proven business leadership can help decide deadlock and assure that the solutions are roundly debated in the public sphere where politicians can divine the peoples' desires."
Back in January, my biggest fear was that Pickens would yank this site and we would not have the tools and the access to make this kind of interactive conversation work for us as a nation. There is the leadership I am talking about!
If you didn't have time to browse through this website and read the criticism and downright visceral denunciations, you have no idea of what the term thick-skinned really means. In addition to all the opportunistic spammers & scammers who found their way on to the Plan pages, the shear volume of discontent, dis-illusion, and depression is much too much for any one person to take the blame for.
I am not advocating that Pickens run for political office. I am making the statement that leadership isn't just political and the representatives of those extreme Republicans who have a peculiar difficulty with difficulty with seeing the irrational logic to the Minnesota Rebellion should take note of. Labeling the opposition as bad and evil won't make the teachers teach better when the class size is too large to spend any quality time with a child having a problem with their studies.
Staying Focused on Your Vision
Just like that we can go from energy to education and get side tracked from what is possible in coalition with Pickens and what is outside of the national energy policy agenda. This is the problem we face when we discuss the issues openly and it is the reason legislatures loose focus on what they should be doing for the general public, not special interests.
A few months back, I wrote in this space, "If the people who we elect can’t lead because they are too busy feathering their own nest, why don’t you unite with us to move our nation forward in spite of them?" I am waiting for your answer and I dare you to ask your neighbor that question. There won't be any surprises in our immediate future if the government is shutdown for lack of compromise.

No, the problem of PP participation is mostly the slow down of Boone Pickens media ads and exposure. The hacker spam doesn't help and the fracking issue just has to be creditably addressed with the solution(s). Now with the Japan melt-down, It would be good time for another Pickens ad campaign and TV talk-show guest tour.

Your a thinking Man who devotes powerful mental energy to how you communicate with others, and I respect You for that. Thank You.
Humans are rational beings. Their conscious mind tries to make sense of everything and maintains the reality in which they live. This is the 'truth' or them. If they are unable to maintain this truth they lose their rationality and will search until they find another truth. People who are unable to rationalize a truth are mad.
The rational mind supports the ego which is what you think you are. Then we have the subconscious part of the brain that is controlled by 'another you' that gives you feelings and wants. If you enjoy sticking pins into small animals you have an evil subconscious. The rational conscious mind thinks up whatever excuses it has to, to satisfy the ego. This becomes the truth in that individual's reality.
You teach the subconscious with your actions and thoughts. Your conscious mind will try to create situations that make you feel good so you can learn to enjoy something (teach your subconscious). Thoughts and actions will change your feelings and emotions.
Your subconscious where you get your feelings is controlled by something that resides in the nagual.

Now I understand you're objective; Time to get above the trees to see a clear path for merging minds with the NEP.
My R*:
A. Confine blogs on this PP website to energy and govement. Encourage any whinning to accompanied by a specific and actionable legislative item for Congress. That can then be discussed and blogged constructively.
B. Hold-off on more puff, promotion and razzel until the following is accomplished;
C. Select 12 knowlegeable persons from Pickens Plan (who also might have a travel budget to work with) and set up a 'fact finding and sharing' meeting with such key players of the NEP.
D. The meeting: 'Not to shove an agenda down each other throat, but list and organize our concurrent and coincident thoughts and then to the list issues where we differ with NEP, with a rule to keep the benefit of America as priority and realistic - and to show how each action is paid for (I've already provided a running start on that issue (how to pay for it) for our team).
E. Each team returns to their own to discuss constrructive compromises which will lead to mergin our forces. This could also all be jointly done over a 4 or 5 day conference at some hotel (if there is budget to pay for it). A lot gets done in the cocktail time and dinner, etc. during a week's joint meeting.
F. Re-adjoin (or new meeting) with the joint conference with NEP for delibrations of both sides to meld. Resolve issues and officiate a merge.
G. Merge websites. Promote. Use Mr. Pickens muscle and connections to put the new plan in front of both the Congress and the Senate; publically.
This all being accomplished, then we have real news (Justification) to promote, push and razzel with the public and to seriously gain our legislator's attention with. I do recommend that Mr. Pickens be part of our PP 12 person team and discussions.

Probably Boone's T.V. sequences did more to bring members than any other one thing. Once a new visitor get's on site, it's kind of confusing and many website detail and format has a lot of room for improvement. We blogs talking about Pills and others more about music, etc. The message of Pickens is not immeidately clearl nor put to actionable items for spectator involvement. Yet there is some urgency in the message which is good.
Those which are more informed also have to see that the plan is inclusive of pollution controls from down h*** gas fracturing to blow-outs and admissions, etc. For example, few realize that Natural Gas is whole safer and cleaner to the environmnet than Ethenol. And then a clear-way to pay for it without crushing the taxpayer and how lower, unmanipulated prices for natural gas will follow. These are important questions for Mr. Pickens to address including the last part. Peoople still vote their pocket book; especially in this broken labor economy. As seen in trade shows, people have about 4 seconds of patience to decide if they are interested or not. This fact has to be foremost when approaching PR and solicitations for membership.
