Fellow Privates

Friends, countrymen, Americans; lend me your ears.
On Friday, February 6, 2009 I was at the meeting with Mr. Pickens in Houston. I heard say the following about the global competition for energy.

 Russia is committing 32% of the next annual budget to developing their energy production capabilities.

 Argentina & Iran have switched their automotive fleets to flex fuel capabilities that rely on domestically alternatives such as natural gas more than gasoline.

 Saudi Arabia has pegged the… Continue

Hindsight - Useful Tip for Driving in Reverse

Exactly how many of you would agree that retrospection is an occasionally useful tool isn't important to this little essay. The significant point is that we all use our history to help us deal with the right now and plan for the future. Agreement isn't necessary when the facts are well known and widely published. Today, this establishment of the facts issue is the problem that the Pickens Plan must address.

Since it's inception, PP has attracted a large following and generated a near subculture… Continue

Understandable Anger

From one high to a record low.

I had been out taking care of business that I have been neglecting during the election season. I decided to day to start at the top of the list of emails that are always waiting for me when I come back in from running about and Pat Jack's "California Sends Pickens Packing - Prop 10 Loses" was the first on the list. Man, what a bummer, but not because Jack is in any error.

Sometime ago (years, honestly) I came to the conclusion that when I got bad or negative news… Continue

He Who has the Big Stick may Speak with a Soft Voice

First, What Are The Questions?

Do we all agree the the Elephant should be public and available to all Pickens' Plan Participants? Do we further agree that the inventions, innovation products, and services should be prefaced with a protective document? Something like an admonition to those intellectual property holder w\regard to thier rights and a mandatory mutual non-disclosure agreement form that establishes the rules for engagement between the supplying and the receiving parties.

How Do You Eat An Elephant?

Many people are asking themselves, “What can I do to get a peice of this elephant on a plate?”

You should have already started the ball to rolling by requesting a lot of solid interest in the Pickens Plan, this is still important; I’ll give you an excellent reason to (start, keep on, or renew your efforts to) evangelize the plan a little later. A group of Pickens Planers started brain busting ideas a few days ago and we wonder if an Investment Club could be formed so all of us could c

http://action.ThisIsReality.org/coenbrothers - the introductory joke.

I have purchased www.OttawaCanada.ws It is presently being used to promote my down line because I have no web site ready. It costs me $10 a month but if a few people also adopt Global International Web Sites for their URL I may even make a $. This is a Google effort. You know, the outfit that is a virtual fortress in the virtual world. They are a source of information and they know where all my friends are hiding. They can also take care of banking and communications with Google talk. It may be what we have been waiting for.

Good interview - you are well spoken Monte.

I am with you on what you have stated on protectionism . Its had to start a working cell of people that want to be patriots since people are still in the whats in it for me phase right now but soon most likely by mid year people will be on the streets looking for new leadership and that should be the beginning of the end of government for and of Big company CEOs . We will see and most likely sooner thatn later .

T. BOONE ROUND-UP

Like Mike Kendall's Energy Bond concept it is a painless and common sense way for Americans to contribute to solving the complex problems of Energy Independence, National Security, Economic Growth and Environmental Protection.

As with Energy Bonds, this suggestion for providing incentives for K-12 education in conservation may be the best kind of investments we can make.

If you beleive the idea has merit please spread the word to you network.

Invite Your Friends to Watch the Video

President Obama recorded a video to speak directly to you about his economic recovery plan.

Invite your friends and family to watch the video and learn why our unprecedented challenges require immediate action.

You can even use our email contact importer to make it easy. Don't worry -- we don't hold on to any of the addresses you use.

After you watch the video, watch Gov. Tim Kaine answer questions from ordinary citizens about the plan and share your story about the economic crisis.

We're counting on you to collect the real stories of the challenges Americans are facing during this recession. We need to hear from you how the economic crisis is affecting your life and why the economic recovery plan is important to you and your community.

Once we receive your stories we will make them available to the public to show how critical it is to support the economic recovery plan.

REMARKS OF PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA

WEEKLY ADDRESS

The White House
Saturday, February 7, 2009

Yesterday began with some devastating news with regard to our economic crisis. But I'm pleased to say it ended on a more positive note.

In the morning, we received yet another round of alarming employment figures – the worst in more than 30 years. Another 600,000 jobs were lost in January. We've now lost more than 3.6 million jobs since this recession began.

But by the evening, Democrats and Republicans came together in the Senate and responded appropriately to the urgency this moment demands.

In the midst of our greatest economic crisis since the Great Depression, the American people were hoping that Congress would begin to confront the great challenges we face. That was, after all, what last November's election was all about.

Legislation of such magnitude deserves the scrutiny that it's received over the last month, and it will receive more in the days to come. But we can't afford to make perfect the enemy of the absolutely necessary. The scale and scope of this plan is right. And the time for action is now.

Because if we don't move swiftly to put this plan in motion, our economic crisis could become a national catastrophe. Millions of Americans will lose their jobs, their homes, and their health care. Millions more will have to put their dreams on hold.

Let's be clear: We can't expect relief from the tired old theories that, in eight short years, doubled the national debt, threw our economy into a tailspin, and led us into this mess in the first place. We can't rely on a losing formula that offers only tax cuts as the answer to all our problems while ignoring our fundamental economic challenges – the crushing cost of health care or the inadequate state of so many schools; our addiction to foreign oil or our crumbling roads, bridges, and levees.

The American people know that our challenges are great. They don't expect Democratic solutions or Republican solutions – they expect American solutions.

From the beginning, this recovery plan has had at its core a simple idea: Let's put Americans to work doing the work America needs done. It will save or create more than 3 million jobs over the next two years, all across the country – 16,000 in Maine, nearly 80,000 in Indiana – almost all of them in the private sector, and all of them jobs that help us recover today, and prosper tomorrow.

Jobs that upgrade classrooms and laboratories in 10,000 schools nationwide – at least 485 in Florida alone – and train an army of teachers in math and science.

Jobs that modernize our health care system, not only saving us billions of dollars, but countless lives.

Jobs that construct a smart electric grid, connect every corner of the country to the information superhighway, double our capacity to generate renewable energy, and grow the economy of tomorrow.

Jobs that rebuild our crumbling roads, bridges and levees and dams, so that the tragedies of New Orleans and Minneapolis never happen again.

It includes immediate tax relief for our struggling middle class in places like Ohio, where 4.5 million workers will receive a tax cut of up to $1,000. It protects health insurance and provides unemployment insurance for those who've lost their jobs. And it helps our states and communities avoid painful tax hikes or layoffs for our teachers, nurses, and first responders.

That's what is at stake with this plan: putting Americans back to work, creating transformative economic change, and making a down payment on the American Dream that serves our children and our children's children for generations to come.

Americans across this country are struggling, and they are watching to see if we're equal to the task before us. Let's show them that we are. And let's do whatever it takes to keep the promise of America alive in our time.

Thank you.

I WOULD ASK HIM TO ENCOURAGE HIS MEMBERS TO TAKE ACTION BY REDUCING THEIR OWN POWER CONSUMPTION RATHER THAN TALK ABOUT IT. THINK OF THE IMPACT IF 75% OF THE PP WERE TO REDUCE THEIR ELECTRIC BILL BY JUST 25% ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER THAN WORDS. I ALSO BELIEVE THAT WE SHOULD ASK THOSE WHO ARE MOTIVATED TO INSTALL A RENEWABLE ENERGY SYSTEM. THIS WOULD GO A LONG WAY TO DECENTRALIZING POWER THUS MAKING AMERICA SAFER.

Something I am working locally to be incorporated into our local code, but would have an enormous impact nationally, is to turn off all unnecessary exterior lighting. I am suggesting all parking lot lighting after the close of business, street lighting etc., Our local Home Depot, has its lot lighting turn off when the manager enters the security code at the close of business. Lows does not, nor any other retail businesses. When you fly up the east coast on a clear night you can really see what I am talking. This could be part of an energy management mandate legislation package. Doug

ML,

Thanks for your concern regarding my leaving the discussions regarding the energy savings bonds. Please understand I am not mad. I do not get mad...it is counter productive. However, the discussions regarding that issue have been drifting into areas that have nothing to do with the task at hand. I would hope that members could find a better forum for those discussions. I am still very active in the Pickens Plan and wish you all the best of luck in your discussions regarding more philisopical issues, but I must delegate my time carefully. I will choose to work on the transformation of our energy issues in a more task related way. Thanks for your concerrn.

I started a message in reply to your rebuttal of the Energy Savings Bonds but with fat finders somehow hit SEND before complete. Not of consequence to complete - a tangent about do-gooders like Jimmy Carter made to look like fools by Arabs WITH IRAN HOSTAGE crisis - as payback for Camp David meddling in Arab affairs - Saddat was later assassinated in Egypt for agreeing to peace efforts by Begin and Carter!
