- Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
- I go to Santa Clara University, where they have us constantly updated on information on renewable energy. I am going to be a sophmore in college this year. Last year, as an engineer major, i learned information about the different types of energy and the importance of enviromental safety as well as efficiency when obtaining that energy. Overall, I believe I generally understand the energy problem we have in America and have a basic understanding of the direction we need to push and progress in order to relieve our dependence on foreign energy resources.
- What excites you about this campaign?
- What excites me is the idea behind this campaign which seems to be helping America and possibly the rest of the world move forward. It just so happens that energy is the current problem, and now we need to present this solution and put it into action so we can move forward.
- What do you want to do to help?
- I'll start by emailing my family who have a pretty extensive emailing network going on between other family members and friends. Other than that, I don't know what else I can do. I am a fulltime student at Santa Clara. I also do crew, a sport that requires a lot of my time and energy physically and mentally. We usually work out more than 30 hours a week once school starts. I also am getting a job. Between all these commitments, I won't have much time, but i will do what I can.

TRANSPORTATION is the master key to basic survival, and the cornerstone of the economy. We all know that transportation presently depends on oil production, and oil production is peaking. We must focus first on transportation – it is the highest priority. The PickensPlan to transition vehicles to natural gas is a great start toward 100% energy independence, but is a stop-gap measure till we can transition to all electric transportation.
