Profile Information

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
Strong believer in the future of windpower. Have visited McCamey, Texas, the wind capital of Texas, while formerly living in west Texas and was very impressed with same. Have just started a new website located here:
http://windpoweryes.com which will continue to expand as time allows.
What excites you about this campaign?
Someone in a position to make a change for the better in our country (Mr. Pickens) actually has a good chance of succeeding with grass roots support of the people. Very tired of all the politicians of both parties promising energy independence for America for the last 30 years with no success.
What do you want to do to help?
Will contact friends, relatives and business associates and ask them to review and join the Pickens Plan. Own http://windpoweryes.com and various wind and energy related domains which I will be developing as time allows.

Just an Update

I have finally had a chance to bring windpoweryes.com "live" as of today. I am a strong believer in the future of windpower and alternative energy sources as a means of achieving energy independence for America. I am very interested in a career in the windpower or alternative industries in any capacity which matches my current skill levels, or which I could be trained for. And yes I am looking for a job....shameless self promotion!

Please feel free to review the site located here: http://windpo… Continue

Letter from Senator Kennedy of Massachusetts to my email requesting support of the Pickens Plan

Dear Mr. Burris:

Thank you for writing to me about the nation's energy policy. The increasing cost oil and the need for national energy independence is an extremely important issue that deserves immediate attention and action.

Rising gasoline prices and our dependence on foreign oil severly undermines our national economy and security. A growing number of families are struggling to pay for the gasoline they need for their daily activities, and many cannot afford this heavy financial burden. Ad… Continue

Letter received from Representative in Colorado in response to my email requesting support of the Pickens Plan

Dear Mark:

Thank you for contacting me about energy issues. I appreciate hearing from you.

I don't oppose domestic oil and gas drilling and have even moved to expand it in the Gulf and Caribbean. But I do not
believe we can drill our way out of the problem, whose primary cause is not drilling restrictions but increased global
energy demand. I support a comprehensive energy plan including responsible onshore and offshore drilling for oil and
natural gas, fast-tracking renewable energy sources,… Continue

Letter received from the Lt. Governor of Texas in response to my email requesting support of the Pickens Plan

Dear Mr. Burris:

Thank you for taking the time to send me your comments on energy policy. I am encouraged that so many people are engaged in the issues and bringing forth creative solutions. Like you, I support a balanced approach that includes oil, gas and renewables - all while keeping an eye on cost and minimizing enviornmental issues. I certainly appreciate knowing your views on these important matters and look forward to a robust debate at both the state and federal levels.

Paul: Could be. More than 10,000 Burris's in the United States and ours are in mostly in Texas, Alabama & the Carolinas according to my grandmother before she died many years ago, although unknown to me. . Glad to see a fellow Burris joining Mr. Pickens plan. Now if I can just get some of my known relatives to join.....stubborness is a Burris trait so not giving up, etc. Since you are in the forest service you might enjoy viewing another site I have over here: http://groups.msn.com/bigbendphotos which I started about 4 years ago while living in the Bend area--more than a 1000 photos of the Big Bend National Park and area, etc. Keep in touch and let's get about 9000 + more Burris's to join! ---Mark
