Profile Information

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I was born on a ranch that was off the grid. We ran the house on propane-fueled appliances and used a windmill hooked to storage batteries for house lights and radio. I've never thought of this as "alternative" energy. We were not hooked onto the grid until the mid-1950's with the Rural Electrification Act.
What excites you about this campaign?
The possibility to achieve energy independence, rebuild the nation's core strength, and achieve a cleaner environment.
What do you want to do to help?
I would be willing to devote time and energy to the campaign.

Happy New Year Martha,
Last year I helped so many members of Pickens Plan learn about personal home energy plans. It's all about conservation of power, and home power generation, things I have been doing at my residence to lower my electricity costs. Send me a friend request a to add me Martha, I'd be honored to have you as a friend here.

BTW, Texas: I just posted an article link on my pickens page about Home Wind Systems in Texas. Your state's representatives, governor, and public utility commission officials are not in your corner with this "weak policy" on Net Metering. Instead they have the tables turned against green power for businesses and homeowners. Texas has created multiple sets of rules for loopholes and you have less rights than people in other states. You should read that article, important.

martha good to meet you...
lets get together... sounds like you have the resources to expand group 11 rapidly... id like to visit with you regarding the green construction program at OC. Cliff Moffett and I recently started a new panel factory project (along with Gary Chatham) in Merkel... We'll build dragonboard panel for energy efficient homes. You need to meet Cliff... in fact you probably need to attend a meeting January the 16th at CEED building Odessa/MIdland of all the EDC for West Texas, hosted by Michael Marerro, Asst City Manager Odessa, regarding Green Energy Efficient building. We are the largest builders of energy efficient homes in West Texas, and we are the only HERS Rater licensed in West Texas. .Lets see how we can get Boone to 2.0M and help you and OC along the way. thanks ptr

JIm from Sacramento, Google Mariah Power, Reno, Nevada o for a household or small business wind turbine for homes. If you generate more power at night than you are not using it provides power for the grid and runs your electric meter backwards to reduce the monthly cost of your electrical energy supplied by your power provider.

Welcome!
We are a voluntary community of individuals who are placing our combined support behind T. Boone Pickens and his efforts to send our government a clear (heard) message that we must reduce our nation’s dependence on foreign oil through the use of all domestic energy alternatives. This site is a place to interact with fellow Pickens Plan supporters, keep up with events and opportunities to help get more involvement.
Please, I ask the first sites you visit to get accurate info and articles to see pretty much what the plan is about and where the plan stands. Some are long, please; take the time to get all the details.
On the home page, click on About The Plan ~ Boone Cam ~ Blog
Our future is focus 1- at this point in time! If not now, When? If not you, WHO?
~~~~~~to quote, Earl Scharff, from RI,~~~~~~~
~~~~~"FOR INFLUENCE, YOU NEED NUMBERS!"~~~~~

Mr. Obama has voiced that eliminating the dependence of foreign oil is a top priority.
[Click here], to enter your zip code and be paired up with members in your area. If you want to be a leader for your area, you can also sign up on that page. If you would rather wait on a leader role, that’s ok we need helpers. An organization cannot be all chiefs.
There is a group for almost everything. The Forums/discussions on this site are many and you’ll probably find something that interests or concerns you. Some are very long and were started months ago. For the ones that concern you, please keep in mind, events are remembered and relayed differently by those commenting, which as we all too well know equals at least three sides to the event.
After you have read the sites I mentioned, if you need anything else to help you, while you help the push, please stop by. I am proud to put my efforts towards this cause.

This is an easy first task I ask of you-
~~~~~~~PLEASE TAKE A PETITION TO WORK TODAY!~~~~~~
I am asking everyone to please take petitions to school or work or wherever you are going today! Everyone wants to get off of foreign oil; we just need to gather their names. WE CAN DO THIS, with everyone’s help. [Click here] for the Petition, then copy or print 4 or 5 and ask everyone to help, better everyone's future.
Again, Welcome; Tom- Welcome wagon crew!
Hi Martha,
Welcome and THANK YOU for joining the Pickens Plan. I just wanted to let you know that a real person out here appreciates you taking that first step.
After you've had a chance to settle in, please let me know if there's anything I can do to guide your path. The basic first steps are reviewing the current topics in the Forum, and when you are comfortable, letting others know about the website. The people here are interested in making the plan a success and those you invite should be able to see for themselves that this is the right place to be.
Here are further steps you might consider.
- Sign up to lead or help on the District page.
- Visit the My Energy page and get involved.
- Work your contacts to increase press coverage.
- Write to congressional representatives directly.
- Use Pickens Action buttons or call (202)225-3121.
- Speak out for ending our dependence on foreign oil.
- Write letters to the editor of your local paper.
- Download flyers/etc from here or here.
- Download the Petition and ask others to sign it.
- Start a company to build wind turbines/solar panels.
- Start a financing firm to invest in those companies.
- Tell everyone you know about PickensPlan.com.
Decide for yourself what you can do, but definitely do something.
Welcome once again and thanks for signing up.
Clynton
