It will take some great volunteers and planning to bring off this event. So, How about a Earth Day event? The FL-24th Congressional District is seeking like minded volunteers to create a conference right here in Central Florida as an Earth Day Event, April 22nd. Not only would this be a great PR opportunity for Pickens Plan locally, but it also would be a great chance for adjoining Districts to work together. Come join with us in seeing this become a successful green energy event as well. The event is in it's planning stages and invites volunteers, businesses who would like to participate and Pickens Plan members to also join the FL-24 group. An article was posted on Topix.com at this link!! Basically, what we are attempting to do is to seek out our Federal, State and Local representatives and political leaders to join the Pickens Plan, speak publicly in support of alternative energy leading to a greater public understanding and education of the value a greener environment will be for us all. We also are seeking the sponsorship by area businesses who have a interest in a greater green public perception through this event.
Besides that, we encourage Districts all across the country to join together with your neighbors and set up Earth Day events just like we are. Anyone who would like to participate or has specific knowledge and ability in such an event undertaking, please contact the FL-24 group on what you would like to do in support of this event or to just participate by contacting business sponsors and political speakers. We can use your expertise, guidance and warm bodies too. All will be appreciated, as you know it is for a great cause. Thank you in advance. The Earth Day site has alot of information on organizing that we all could draw from and use just like the Topix article explains.

We can do this. We just need a bit of help from everyone. If we all brought ten friends to the plan, by manually adding their info to the TAKE ACTION page, we would be 17 million tommorrow. HOW HARD IS THAT? Will we do it, or will we let this moment pass us by,.... again.

WE HAVE NO INFLUENCE WITHOUT NUMBERS.

Please join your local Congressional District group, and help them build grass roots support. They need your help.

We need to keep our eye on the goal. Please get 10 signed pledges faxed in today. As Thomas Friedman states (DAILY PICKENS) only a loud and large grass roots effort will force Washington into action. The Gang of 20 has said the same thing. THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE CHANGE IN ENERGY WE MUST HAVE IS TO BUILD THIS HISTORICAL EFFORT TO UNIGNORABLE HEIGHTS. The clock is ticking- less than 75 days until INAUGURATION DAY. We can concentrate on the job at hand, or we can go down in flames. PLEASE GET 10 today.

You get it. I think we are on the verge of building the critical mass that will push this thing over the tipping point. A comlete paradigm shift of thought is tough to achieve, but we are getting there fast! If everyone got 100 people to sign the pledge, it would be like watching a diagram of blood coursing through the veins - branching out smaller and smaller and reaching all corners of the body. Help me achieve that by going out and trying it. Your effort can be used as inpiration to motivate others.
