Profile Information

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
As a HomeOwner living on a class 1 stream .. facing the southern sky .. and an Industrial Electrician whom helped build a 550 megawatt power plant in Winter Haven Fl. that operates on Foreign OIL. I researched & planned to install a H2o turbine, a windmill with solar collectors for elect & H2o. The Concept was to be Totally Self Sufficient.
What excites you about this campaign?
The Whole Concept .. The Big Picture / Story .. Free~Dom ..
Mr.T. Boone Pickens .. is The ONLY U.S.A. Leader .. On The RIGHT Path .. !!
( in my most honest humble observation, opinion & beliefs )
What do you want to do to help?
I want to set up a program to help out our National School Programs .. where Our Great Government Closed down the funding for OUR CHILDREN's EDUCATION.
I represent this company that has millions to invest ..
We give windmills to the school district .. whom passes them on to the parents of the children going to that school district.
Not only does the school save funds on power supply .. they earn a lil bit of the money that comes from the sale of wholesale elect.
Not only do the school save & make money on their Daily uses ..
they make Money from The Parents of the children going to that particular school district.
It may Not be the answer to our government spending problems & issues .. but .. it's a huge helping hand. More then what our own government is doing for Our Great Country AND Our Children's Schools right now.

Natural Gas

Natural Gas: A Window of Opportunity

A window of opportunity has opened for the private participant in natural gas drilling, particularly on-shore USA. The major energy companies have recently shifted their interests overseas, allowing smaller energy companies to acquire prime leases in the heart of America's gas producing areas. Domestic oil production is at a 31 year low and declining rapidly. Drilling activity is at a 50 year low and has recently rebounded due to increasing natural gas prices. For environmental reasons, the governments of the USA, some states, and Mexico have mandated increased usage of natural gas. The major automobile manufacturers have begun making compressed natural gas automobiles. Natural gas autos are also more economical and safer than gasoline autos.

Congress recently enhanced tax incentives to stimulate participation in drilling, especially for natural gas. Government and industry leaders are predicting increases in natural gas prices. Oil imports have recently exceeded 60% of USA consumption. (Imports were about 30% when OPEC caused the gas lines of the 1970's.) Since banks no longer provide drilling funds, individuals are finding opportunities in the petroleum industry that previously were unavailable to them. Political instability in the former Soviet Union may cause the major companies to bring their dollars back to the USA and close this window of opportunity for individuals.

Hey Mel, big project for the Columbia River Gorge near Arlington.

The Largest Wind Energy Project in the U.S. Announced for Oregon

The Shepherds Flat wind farm is the first in North America to deploy GE’s 2.5xl wind turbine, which has been proven in Europe and Asia.

“The 2.5-MW wind turbine is the latest evolution of GE’s wind turbine technology and provides customers with greater efficiency, reliability and grid connection capabilities. The 2.5-MW builds upon the success of GE’s 1.5-MW wind turbine, the world’s most widely deployed wind turbine with more than 12,000 installed,” said Bolze.

Caithness Energy estimates that the $2 billion project will inject $16 million annually of direct economic benefits into Oregon, and will employ 400 workers during construction and 35 during operation. Construction will be on a grand scale not only because of the large number of turbines, but because 85 miles of road and 90 miles of power connection to the grid will be built. Construction will begin in 2010 and will be completed in 2012.

Hello Mel! Welcome to Pickens Plan. One word on T. Boone being the only one in America with a plan, take a look at my blog on www.vocgen.com. And, the EPA CHP Partnership and the DOE have excellent plans as well.

Mel,

There is not a district leader for OR-05. We could use some help energizing the group. If you have interest in district leadership, please shoot me an email to micah.lauer@pickensplan.com and we can discuss. We'd definitely like to have your help!

Cheers,

Hi Mel,
Welcome to the Pickens Plan. I am the WA State leader, and have another group discussing NW Regional issues. I went to Oregon State University in the early 80's, and eventually graduated from Gonzaga in 1996. I was born and raised in Spokane, WA and have passed through The Dalles many times.
