Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Maybe--But Not Sure What to Organize
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I have looked into this as an alternative to depending on local energy for my home and car. I have read about many alternatives and believe that solar, natural gas and air turbines are the best choice for homes and business and solar, NG and compressed air for autos is the best choice.
What excites you about this campaign?
That someone finally has the balls to go after Congress and special interests groups
What do you want to do to help?
You can put a wind turbine on my property. Talk is cheap. Action is what it's about. My town will never let it happen though. They're pro Republican and Bush and Cheney fanatics. Anything good for America is bad for them.

I have posted my intent to rally anyone that will listen to me to this cause. I have my link on www.the-pi.com , my website which anyone interested, may visit and read about my views on this emergency situation.
Here is an e-mail I just recieved from Senator David Vitter of Louisiana. He blamed the Democrats for wanting to protect our oceans and food supplies - like that's a bad idea... Remember the movie clueless? Here he is - in his own words.
Dear Mr. Atencio,
Thank you for contacting me in support of increasing our domestic energy production. I appreciate hearing from you, and I agree with you. I am actively working to increase our domestic energy supplies to lower energy prices and reduce our dependence on foreign oil.
With the national average price of gasoline above $4.00 a gallon, it is well past time to move beyond politics and find solutions I have introduced legislation that would set a trigger price that allows states to ask the federal government to open new areas for offshore drilling and share in the revenues, like we do in Louisiana. Unfortunately, when I proposed this idea as an amendment in the Senate, it failed to pass due to Democratic opposition.
I share your frustration with the burdens that the high cost of energy places on Americans today. We must do more to reduce our reliance on foreign energy sources and ensure a stable supply of affordable oil and natural gas. Finding new alternative energy sources is an important goal, but we also need to address the immediate need for increased supplies of oil and natural gas. I believe that providing more access to the Outer Continental Shelf and other domestic areas and streamlining the process for expanding our refinery capacity are vital for our long term energy needs. I have been advocating for significant energy reforms like these for some time now in the U.S. Senate, and I will continue fighting to open up our abundant domestic energy resources.
Once again, thank you for sharing your thoughts with me on this important topic. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future about any other issues important to you and your family.
Sincerely,
Senator David Vitter
United States Senator

This is my reply:
Senator Vitter,
Thank GOD that the Democrats blocked the drilling. You are an idiot if you think drilling offshore will help America. What happens when it kills the FISH and causes us to die?
Duh.
Typical Republican mentality - use more, take more, spend more, borrow more.
Here's a thought Senator, why don't you come up to north of Shreveport where one of biggest natural gas pockets has been found. How could you not know that?
That, Senator, can be used to operate automobiles, for around $2.00 a gallon or less.
How about wind turbines to generate electricity to suppy the United States seven times over with a reusable and clean energy source - that is FREE - wow?
You mean your party politics has blinded you from the easiest and most obvious solutions.
Maybe we need a new Senator with his brains in his head instead of his wallet and political interest groups. How could you represent me and my family?
Thanks for nothing. I'll post you eamil comment on all of my blogs AND on the PickensPlan website all to see - worldwide. Shame on you Senator David Vitter. You are a disgrace to the people of Louisiana.
In response to Ken Morgan's post to you....'We' may not endorse any politician, but we can certainly call a spade a spade when we define the constraints we face. If we also just happen to identify a mind set....if the shoe fits, wear it. I'm haveing a particularly intollerant day when it comes to being politically correct!
I will get back to you asap to talk about the web site you suggested on Leaders and Organizers and see if we can work together on it. You do the tech stuff I haven't taken time to learn and I'll see if I can scare up the details to flesh it out.
We are looking for any good Ideas that anybody might have.
NOTE: We do Not endorse any politician, only policy (and maybe Pickens if he runs.). We started a new group "Show Your Colors". Please join and post your Ideas. We are selling all Picken's Plan product at cost. The glow in the dark Pickens Plan Shirts are being made now and will be available next week.
